The Cardi's will still celebrate Gwyl Nadolig tonight despite no Christmas Lights

Cardigan’s Town Chamber has worked tirelessly in raising a substantial some of money for 21st century Christmas lights only to have their hopes of installing them last week dashed.
A team of hardy volunteers braved the bitter cold last week to begin installing when on the 3rd night they discovered to their horror when a cable shot out of a wall and across the street that the existing brackets were not up to the strain.  Fortunately no damage or injuries occurred but the installing of the lights was immediately brought to a halt for health and Safety reasons. The existing brackets are just not up to the job of supporting the weight of the new lights.  Cardigan even managed to attract the main BBC news – click here for full report.

It is a huge disappointment for the town but the Cardi’s are made of stern stuff and they will still celebrate with gusto so why not join them this evening for Gwyl Nadolig.  The Chamber has managed to install some of the new lights at the Guildhall along with the Christmas Trees so you will get a flavour of what the lights will look like in their full splendour next year.  All the shops along the high street and pendre are looking wonderfully festive.  There will be choirs singing and many other festivities going on in and around the Guildhall.

Many shops will be open until late and why not visit Santa in his festive grotto at Pink Orchid's fabulous new shop  in Pendre from 2pm until 8pm
