New Year at the Nag's Head Inn and then the Snow fell!

Initially hubby and I were going to have a really quiet New Year in fact it was the first time in many years we were not entertaining family or friends, so we thought a quiet night in would be just the ticket but no! - friends encouraged us to drop down to the local pub - the Nags Head Inn.  Great idea as we could walk down the hill and good exercise for us on the return journey!  Although the weather was incredibly cold the atmosphere and friendly warmth in the pub was fantastic.  We had a fab time, meeting up with friends old and new!  We managed to keep going until 1.30 am but the rest partied until 6 am!!  How do they do it?

Restful day on New Year’s day and later watched as the snow came in.  Aphrodite (American Cocker Spaniel) had never seen Snow fall and was fascinated. Saturday we awoke to 3-4inches of snow and it looked wonderful.
Wrapped up with suitably festive earmuffs (reindeer heads), fur lined walking boots and not forgetting walking poles we climbed the hill behind us.  We would probably have been better equipped with skis!  On our return the walk led us past the Nag’s Head so popped in for a warming glass of mulled wine – just the thing on a Winter’s day.
