We are so fortunate here in West Wales for entertainment and activities.  For both the locals and the tourists there is always something to do.

If you are in to Car Boot Sales there is one every Saturday in Aberaeron and also on Sunday there is a Car Boot in Talsarn near Lampeter.  Here you will find market traders too selling anything from plants, vegetables and good Welsh produce.  There is also a Car Boot in Beulah on Sundays.

For the children you cannot really do better than Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort on the Coast road A487 between Newport and Eglwyswrw.  They have many activities throughout the summer. Our Events Pages list most of them or go direct.

Castell Henllys is a recreated working Iron Age Fort.  You will be transported back in time and be able to see how people lived in the Iron Age.  Fascinating for both young and the not so young.  My hubby and I have been several times and always see something different or learn something new.

Llanerchaeron is also well worth visiting particular if you are interested in Historic Houses.  The guides are both knowledgeable and friendly and sometimes very entertaining.  The house was designed by John Nash and is extremely interesting architecturally, but once again you will be transported back in time to the 19th century.  Throughout the summer months there are guided tours every Thursday at 1.30pm.

If you are interested in old farm machinery there is a opportunity to see the unique Geler Jones Collection including a steam engine.  This collection is housed in a purpose built shed within the Llanerchaeron Estate.

On the 26th July there is a Hedgehog day at Llanerchaeron.  Children will love this and will get in Free if they bring a painting of a Hedgehog!

Into Barbeques?  There is a great event this Saturday at Rhosygilwen in aid of Muscular Dystrophy.  Starts at 8pm and is just £7.00

Rhosygilwen are also playing host to part of the Fishguard Festival of Music and there will be some great performances on  July 27th through to July 29th in Neuadd y Dderwen ( Oak Hall) Do call Rhosygilwen for full details on 01239 841387

The above should give you a taster of events and activities in the area but do keep an eye on thebestof Cardigan & Teifi Valley's events pages
