The sunshine has appeared in bucket loads over the last week and I have noticed the garden has come alive with plants shooting up everywhere. My delphiniums are particularly strong this year due partly to the sun but more to the lack of rain – not so many of those slimy hungry slugs!!
However if plants are growing so is the lawn...... and those dreaded weeds. I don’t know about you but I enjoy the planting and the creating but I really hate the mundane of gardening - WEEDING!! You just finish one border when you look around and an army of weeds has once again gained more ground.. I want to enjoy my garden, sit in it, wander around and admire it, wax lyrical about its beauty, its interest. Entertain friends in it. Enjoy drinks on the sun deck in the early evening as the sun goes down. What joy! What I don’t want is to be knee deep in weeds and overgrowth!!
