Sunday the 28th August  saw the hard work of the team at The Nags Head Inn  come to fruition.

They all had been planning hard for a charity event to raise money for the Kidney Dialysis unit in Glangwilli Hospital Carmarthen.

The event, in two parts kicked off first at 3pm with a Rounders Match  in The Old Emrys field (kindly donated by Sandra and Dillwyn  of Abercych),
5 teams entered and the Caravan Park Team won and received a nice shiny trophy!

A Bouncy castle supplied by Dragon hospitality kept the tiny tots amused for hours.  The meat for the BBQ was supplied by  Parish & Co and Dewi James Butchers.  The all important Bar had generous donations from many  local pubs in the area.  The Tombola and Cake stand was a scrumptious success with donations coming from the generous locals of the pub and the village.  Always a favourite with the children and some adult ‘children’ too was the face painting.  Some wonderful designs, lots with sparkles!  There was a real sense of community spirit with locals and visitors alike enjoying the sunny afternoon watching a fun game of Rounders!

In the evening it was Part Two!  A superb BBQ style buffet supplied and cooked  to perfection by Rachel Evans of Number 11 Café.

The entertainment came from sensational singer Liza Starlight from Pontypridd (herself a recipient of a kidney transplant)  and the acoustics from Zak Robinson.

The Nags Head was packed to capacity!

There was a break for the Raffle followed by an Auction, with Ewart Morgan taking the important role of Auctioneer!  All donations for the raffle and auction were from local businesses, including Clydey Cottages and Wilson Wines.

To complete the fun a Disco from Dragon Hospitality continued to the early hours.

Samantha Jamieson and the team at the Nags Head wish to thank everyone for their great support and generosity which helped make the event the huge success it was.

So far the event has raised over £4000.

PS.thebestof Carmarthenshire and thebestof Cardigan & Teifi Valley hope to carry on the success as they will be adopting the Kidney Dialysis Unit as their chosen charity for the next 12 months so watch this space for details for future fund raising initiatives
