Small businesses operators from the Cardigan area, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire were invited to a breakfast meeting by HSBC in Cardigan – and what a useful morning it turned out to be.
The aim was to introduce the bank’s new full time business specialist Lisa Griffiths, but there was much more than that to this event.
They invited other professionals in the financial sector along, together with small businesses from the area who wanted to showcase their products and services, or just go along for a friendly networking session. Thebestof Cardigan and Teifi Valley helped promote the event and were thrilled at the enthusiastic response from the many and varied local businesses, including thebestof business members, Brides by Design and Positive IT. Pest control firms, childcare specialists and Cardigan Castle, were among those taking tables to promote themselves and display their products.
The organisers made a point of using local firms – Keith Davies butchers and Queens Bakery among them – to supply the breakfast ingredients. The main hall of Cardigan’s stunning Guildhall was the venue and the place was abuzz from 8.30 as coffee was served.
Among those exhibiting and available to chat with the many visitors were Ashmole Accountants, DMB Davies Accountants, Antur Teifi, Pembrokeshire Tourism, Pembrokeshire Lottery and FinanceWales.
Many people came along to network and to meet business people in an informal and friendly environment and many new contacts were made. Who knows what doors will open as a result?
A charity collection was held, and all proceeds will go to LATCH, the Cancer Charity for Children.
The event was considered a great success, and another is planned for early next year – watch this space!
