Anglesey Abbey has long been a big tourist attraction for the local area; located less than seven miles from Cambridge, the Jacobean-style country house with gardens and its own working mill is a National Trust property that has become a highly popular wedding and corporate venue.

And this winter, the gardens will be showcased in a truly magical way, as they are transformed into a beautiful wonderland. And new for 2013, the Winter Lights Festival is now open on Fridays, meaning you can enjoy a slice of local culture and beauty straight after work!

Perfect for the whole family, Anglesey Abbey's Winter Garden and Riverside paths will be illuminated as music gently drifts through the trees. Plus there will be entertainment such as local jazz band Hat Trick as well as performers lit from head-to-toe in lights showcase their many tricks and stunts – the children will love it!

Of course, these multi-coloured lights and installations are beautiful in themselves but the true magic is in how these lights transform the natural shapes and textures of the gardens trees, shrubs and Anglesey Abbey's beloved Silver Birch Glade.

Anglesey Abbey's Redwoods Restaurant will be open every evening, ready to serve you winter warmers to take the chill out of your bones. Plus there will be barbecued local fayre for you to buy along the Winter Lights Festival route, as well as roasted chestnuts and hot drinks.

Looking for the perfect Christmas present? Why not take a look in the gift shop? There you will find scarves, books, homeware, picnic hampers and Winter Lights themed gifts to remember your Anglesey Abbey experience.
