National Air Ambulance Week is just a week away and supporters of the East Anglian Air Ambulance are busy preparing their menus for their own Come EAAA-T With Me dinner parties to help raise vital funds for the charity.

Based on the popular Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me, Come EAAA-T With Me asks guests to donate to the charity the amount they would have paid for the meal if they’d been served the same in a restaurant. Come Dine With Me Winner and East Anglian Air Ambulance supporter Polly Guy has put together her top tips on how to host a dinner party to help those hosting their own Come EAAA-T With Me evening to raise money for the charity.

Plan ahead – Plan your menu in advance and practice what you’re cooking. Timing is everything and if you haven’t practiced, your evening of fun could turn in to an evening of stress and disaster.
Cook something you know – A dinner party is not the time to experiment with new dishes you’ve never prepared before. Cook something you know and that you know will work and taste delicious.
Make each course spectacular – Don’t just wait for dessert, make each course stand out. Presentation is everything when presenting food to guests and they’ll be bowled over by your attention to detail.
Look after your guests – Don’t just cook them dinner and then sit down to eat. Make sure they want for nothing. If you see that their glass is nearly empty, offer to top it up. It’s the little things that turn a good dinner party in to a great one.
Enjoy it – Most of all, have fun because if you’re having fun your guests will enjoy themselves too. It’s not too late to get your fundraising pack and join in the fun.
