Cambridge’s Liberal Democrat MP, Julian Huppert, is currently preparing a dossier outlining what businesses in Cambridge want from the new coalition government.

The main aim of the dossier is to create a nationwide charter for entrepreneurship and eventually have it adopted as policy by the government.

The dossier gives local business people an opportunity to genuinely influence how the new government could make the economic climate within Cambridge easier and more productive for them .

Julian outlined: “The Liberals have always wanted to be the party of entrepreneurs and are associated with merchants and traders.”

“Liberalism is about freedom, creativity and difference, the same as entrepreneurship, but in the last 10 years we as a political party have stopped doing much about it. I want to reclaim this for liberalism, and it seemed something we ought to be doing something about.”

The dossier has been given the go ahead by Business Secretary Vince Cable and Julian is urging local people to get in touch with any ideas they may have that could improve the spirit of entrepreneurship in Cambridge.
