Local Council Tax payers in Cambridge could have more of a say in how their money is spent following a new trial in the city.

A pilot scheme is being trialled in North Cambridge, which will allow local people to have an say in how their cash is spent and prioritise the services they consider to be essential.

Councillor Sian Reid from Cambridge City Council commented: "We want to give people a better chance to say what is best for their neighbourhoods. After all, they are the best people to tell us what they need and we hope they can work with councillors to identify priorities.”
