Cambridge Urban Festival

One of the first events of its kind to be held nationwide, the new Cambridge Urban Festival is being run by Cambridge City Council’s Sports Development and the Children and Young People's Participation Service and will allow young people to enjoy ramps for skateboarding and scooters, boxing, freestyle BMX, breakdance, graffiti and streetwise soccer.

The festival is a reaction from the council to a recent consultation which was carried out amongst young people and found that many would like to see more provision for sports and activities aimed at younger people and the car park was an ideal location for this groundbreaking initiative.

If the first event is a success then the council plans to offer more of the same in the future.

The event will run from 12.00 - 6.00pm and the organisers thank Grafton Centre and Cambridge City Council’s Parking Services for their assistance in making the event happen.
