What is great is that our local MP has recognized their importance and achievements for Bury St EdmundsLOCAL TASTES FOR LOCAL MP
Jo Churchill, Bury St Edmunds’ local MP, visited Treatt, Bury’s innovative ingredient solutions provider, on Friday 8 April and was treated to some trending flavours in the newly extended beverage applications laboratory.
She was introduced to Application Specialist Lamia Gaman who joined Treatt just over 2 years ago, initially as a member of the R&D team as part of an industrial placement. Lamia presented some beverages flavoured with Treatt specialties such as Nordic Herbal Fusion, Turkish Delight and Maple.
Mrs Churchill was also shown the brewing room where specific beer types are brewed to develop flavour solutions for beer applications.
Touring Treatt’s manufacturing facilities and high tech laboratories, Treatt’s Group Finance Director, Richard Hope, and Dr John Boddington, Director of Technical Services, explained that the state-of-the-art equipment gave Treatt the ability to develop unique flavour solutions for its customers.
Speaking after the visit, Jo Churchill said “I enjoyed a fascinating visit to Treatt’s, a world leading manufacturer practicing some of the most cutting edge science and technology in the heart of our town. I was treated to flavour testing and meeting the hardworking staff that make it all happen. Going forward, Treatt’s have exciting plans to develop both their business and seal their place as a truly innovative global company. I will be following their success closely.”
