Have visited this restaurant twice whilst in Bolton for a concert. Very impressed with the quality of the service, the cleanliness, atmosphere, and menu choice. This will always be our first choice for a meal in Bolton.

Visit here regularly with my husband, today we took the 2 youngest grandchildren with us. How excited they were to sit and eat there fish and chips in such lovely surroundings with a pianist playing. The food was excellent as always, the staff faultless as always, had a lovely time. The comments from the grandchildren..this is well posh grandma!! Look forward to visiting again and im positive the grandchildren will definitely want to return. As regards to cost you get what you pay for Good quality food.

My sister and brother-in-law insist on going to the Olympus every time they visit me from Ireland.
They say "Not only is it the best chippie in England, its the best in the British Isles".
Food is great, service is great, and Taseo and his staff make you feel as if you are really special.
I have never been helped of with my coat anywhere, not even in the poshest of resturants which charge a fortune. This is one of the thing that make it unique.
Well done Taseo and his lovely family, we could do with more places like yours in England.

It's a perfect place to take visitors to the north west to taste wonderful traditional fish and chips with bread and butter and a pot of tea. The service is excellent and friendly - they'll help you with your coat! and there's a new grand piano with a pianist playing gently in the background.

OK, it's better equipped and laid out than most chippies but what do you want from a chippy ?

The area isn't great and the parking busy, watch out for the ever vigilant wardens. Chips were excellent from good chipping spuds, hot and freshly made. The fish was well overpriced at nearly £5 or a large cod (and it wasn't large even then).

Overall its not cheap and there's many better chippies out there for a lower price unless you feel thats it vital to eat your chips to music. Overrated I'm afraid..

I visited Olympus tonight for the first time. I couldn't fault it. From the moment we walked through the door to leaving we had lovely attentive service from the staff. The food was tasty and the surroundings well .... I've never listened to the background sound of an accomplished pianist whilst eating fish and chips.
Everything was faultless!

I took a group of 75 persons to this fabulous establishment on Monday, 27th May.
The food as excellant and the service great.
We were entertained with music and songs from the 40s.
This was superb in every way and I would not hesitate in recomending a visit here by a group or any person.
I cannot understand the previous review.
Well done to Tasos and his staff.

I visit The Olympus on a regular basis, usually with family members. We have always found the food to be excellent. Usually we have fish and chips, but there are enough choices to please most people. What always makes it a pleasurable meal is that the staff are very pleasant, well-trained and thoughtful. My aunt (aged 93), visits on her own as well as with us, and is treated like royalty - but then my grand-daughter and her babies are similarly treated! This lunchtime there was the usual excellent pianist playing, and there are special events from time-to-time, e.g. an Afternoon Tea Dance and on the next May Bank Holiday a special weekend with singers etc. Well done to Tasos and his team for all they do!

Been to Olympus a few times now, and not your standard chippy! It's hard to use terms "fine dining" and "fish and chips" together, but this is what springs to mind at Olympus. From the moment you arrive, the door is opened from you by the very attentive staff, you are shown to a table, asked if this suits your preference, you may be helped off with your coat/jacket before being shown the food and drinks menu... Customer service is top priority. Forget the radio blaring at some other establishments, Olympus often has a live pianist playing - and a grand piano at that. Although they have other menu items, the main dish - fish comes in varying size from "pensioners special - with 6 chips", up to larger sizes for those with larger appetites. Restaurant is also licensed, for customers wanting a drink with meal. Of course the downside is the price, it is fairly expensive for fish and chips - but it is not expensive for a good quality restaurant with good service. If you want a top service and don't mind paying for this, then the Olympus is a winner. If you want a cheaper option without the service, then there's plenty of them around. No complaints at all about the quality of the food, very tasty piece of fish, and well cooked in delicious batter. The good service extends to when you leave the restaurant, with a friendly farewell and thanking you for your custom. There are a few seats outside the restaurant, as well as the huge indoor restaurant, but tables are well spaced apart, so you don't feel as if you are sitting on top of your fellow diners.

Great Fish and Chip (and other things) restaurant, not particularly cheap but good quality food. Really lovely staff and well worth a visit, but it does close at about 6.30 pm.

Had taken my daughter's car for an MOT so had a couple of hours free and decided to reward ourselves with a nice lunch for two. Had heard good reports of Olympus and we weren't disappointed.

Welcomed on arrival and offered a choice of tables and explained what we needed to do to order our meal.

This was easily undertaken and soon two plates of hot and tasty fish, chips and peas arrived at our table together with a hot pot of tea and a big friendly smile from the Server.

All the staff seemed to be enjoying their work and all the other diners enjoying their meals. It was a nice touch that as we prepared to go, someone came across to assist my wife with her coat.

We went to Bolton on march 22nd. AFter enjoying looking around the food market we treated ourselves to lunch at Olympus. Glad to go indoors because the freezing weather outside was making us hungry. We were amazed. The place was warm and welcoming. Spotlessly clean and very attentive service from the staff who were literally running round to keep orders on time. HUsband enjoyed his haddock and I cod chips and peas. The fish was very fresh tasting and the batter perfect. A good pot of tea as well although you can have alcohol. The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. Next time we go to Bolton, definitely visit again. Came out into the cold, refreshed and happy.

Our first visit to Bolton to support a friend performing at the theatre. The theatre experience included a meal at Olympus fish and chip restaurant prior to the show in the company of our friend. As this was his treat we cannot comment on price, but from the very moment that we entered the restaurant and were weclomed in such a personal manner, it was clear that this was rather a special place. The fish was of excellent quality - and could we be much further from the sea? - the service most attentive - and the atmosphere even further enhanced by the live piano music that was played throughout our meal. An excellent start to what was to prove a most memorable evening.

A very friendly greeting awaited us and the service with a smile continued throughout.
Quick service - just what we needed.
Nice milky coffee.
The only criticism from the visit is that the bacon was too salty for us.
For a "chippy" the interior design (with grand piano and lovely light fittings) was pretty spectacular - I think it is probably what a famous fish and chip proprietor from Guiseley would have done if he was starting out in business today.
The washrooms were probably the best and most modern and cleanest (they had just been mopped) I've seen in a restaurant (never mind a chippy) in many a year.
Top notch.

went to olympus for lunch today on a family trip, we haven't been to Bolton for a long time. was greeted at the door by a friendly, and efficient gentleman, although very busy the staff looked after us very well. Great fish & chips 2 haddock lunches, 1 cod lunch and 1 child's nuggets meal. most of all i was most impressed with the good old fashioned customer service, gent saying hello, welcome with a genuine happy smiley face, saying goodbye holding the door open. beautiful. It may not be cheap, but if you want cheap i'm sure you can find it. just not here.

We were attracted to the Olympus by the people queuing to get in. It must be good, we all thought. We waited about 15 minutes, which is 15 minutes more than I would usually wait, before being shown to our table. Then you have to go and queue to order. We went for the pensioners special at £7:20, wanting mushy peas we spent more. When it came it was a disappointment, not only was it a small portion but the fish was greasy and the portion of peas was about enough for one not the three of us. "Tartar sauce?" "Of course Sir." But when it came, in a small bowl, it had a skin on it and looked as though we weren't the first to use it. Yes, the toilets and the piano are great, I even tipped the piano player but he carried on playing, but the food was very poor. I can only think that there aren't to many eateries in Bolton, or the populace don't get out much!
