we have been going to Olympus for many years. The service is excellent and they have excellent customer service skills. The food portions are good and the food itself is always of good quality and hot. They have expanded twice over the past few years to meet demand for seating. It is always busy.

Still the best fish and chips in this part of the country. You must visit Olympus when you come to Bolton, in fact it is worth coming to Bolton JUST to eat at Olympus.

lovely place, friendy, efficient staff.
apart from jacket potato and beans nothing veggie.
not complaining - probably the best potato in town but I can imagine what they could do for veggies/vegans..

Harry Ramsden - Eat Your Heart Out!
I first started coming here with my gran (as others will know this place is VERY popular with the old folk), and even after she has passed away, I am still going - now with my boyfriend. Such a gem of a place in Bolton, true quality in everything - food, service, price, atmosphere there is literally nothing wrong at all with the Olympus ~(except maybe it's opening hours - shuts waaay too early for my liking!)

Beautiful restaurant, excellent meals and smart waiters. I go there regularly and am always pleased with the food. Good value and very central. Other meals are served but basically it is a fish restaurant. try it!

Where else in Bolton would you get exceptional service in lovely surroundings such as this? A latte before 11am costs just £10 and the food at all times is excellent. Bolton town centre needs lots more places like this

not been in Bolton for a while and wanted to introduce my wife to Olympus. Usual warm welcome, prompt service and excellent food. even used the toilets this time - as expected from this establishment, clean and very well outfitted. they had live music during the mid day period. not surprised they are busy - this establishment is an icon to how service and quality works. those other establishment bemoaning lack of business should take a leaf out of the the Olympus book. well done.

I popped in to this place because it was far and away the smartest looking place in Bolton town centre, I was passing through and needed a quick lunch. The restaurant is large, smart and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. This is a chippy and, in Bolton, it had to be meat and potato pie, chips and peas. A bit OTT price wise at £6.50 but the quality was there, golden brown chips that were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, peas that weren't bright green porridge and a good pie. Oh, and the service, you order at the counter and they serve to the table. I walked back to the table, sat down and the food arrived! Overall a bit of a find really.

The staff here are second to none. They are so polite - particularly with the grannies - no wonder they love it. A very good business plan means they are always busy but equally always have tables. Worth having your chips here.

Heard a lot of good reviews about the Olympus in the past few months, finally went there for the first time yesterday. The restaurant is much bigger than expected. It is a proper restaurant setting with modern furnishing, rather than like a fish & chips cafe. The majority of the customers are pensioners and that explains the pensioners offer on the menu. The food is very nice, though portion size is quite small. The service is fast and the staff are all very friendly.

Restaurant is extremely expensive and staff aren't very helpful.

Take out is ok. chips usually need a couple more minutes in the fryer - always a bit raw.

Been eating at this restaurant with work friends for over three years, with over 100 visits, usually at lunch times, I have seen first hand the investment Tasos Pattichis, the owner, has put into the business. The restaurant now has a newly built orangery, a small outside eating area and a grand piano which is played by a pianist on certain days. The majority of its clientèle are OAP's and there are pensioner specials available. The service is fast and friendly, the meals are generally small in size, very high quality but quite expensive.

Best fish and chips by far. Would highly recommend treating yourself and giving it a try.

I dine in this genuinely authentic fish restaurant virtually every time I visit the Octagon Theatre. Maybe there are other places worth trying but why would I look elsewhere, it is great and very convenient for the theatre! The (family) owners have spent a small fortune in upgrading the entire establishment and have even included a lovely outdoor terrace leading off from the conservatory area of the restaurant. This is, I am sure, especially welcome to the remaining smoking population who don't have to street walk with their ciggies! Just so long as the anti-ash brigade don't start tut tutting when summer comes ..! Special mention to the toilet facilities which are some of the most hygenic I have come across. Virtually hands-free everything!
A warm welcome is given to everyone - I know, I watched the staff treat everyone who walked through the door in the same fashion. The food is very very good and exactly as described - fresh, tasty, straightforward and good value. The service is speedy and professional. You can have wine if you wish but frankly a pot of tea is perfect with traditional fish and chips. They have also retained their take away business but kept the entrance separate which is much better for those who want a restaurant atmosphere. I can say nothing more than to urge anyone who has not yet tried Olympus to head on down there asap!

I regularly meet a group of theatre going friends at the Olympus for an early dinner. The restaurant is spacious and well appointed. We meet at 6pm and are always in good time for a 7.30pm curtain up around the corner at the Octagon.

The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is so much more than fish and chips if that is what you prefer. Personally I think that the haddock and chips and a glass of house white for £8 is just fab!

As my title says this is without a doubt the best place to eat Fish and Chips in Bolton town centre. The moment you enter the door you are greeeted, then seated and treated. fantastic service, many more expensive establishments could learn abour customer service from these guys.

The food is decent though I've had better fish and chips nearer the coast. The decor is very smart and clean and the service friendly and prompt. Only real quibble is cost versus portion size. Only open in the day, closes about 6.

Visited Olympus yesterday, it's not the same as was, yes the staff as always friendly, helpful, and yes it was clean, but food served on small plates, whatever you do don't order the chicken tikka sandwich because it's not chicken tikka. It's gone a bit pricey. The pensioners size is the same as a normal size.
