We go to the Olympus every week and have fish and chips and it is lovely my only "gripe" is they put margarine on the bread, on the menu it says bread and butter, I know margarine is supposed to be more healthy but I really don't like it, that is my only criticism, otherwise everything else is good

The restaurant is warm, comfortable and pleasant. The welcome is fabulous and the members of staff give great service. There is a piano and on Tuesday there was a pianist but I am unsure if there is one every day. The food is delicious and there is a good choice. Smaller portions are on offer. Desserts available. Coffee is very good. The quality of food, service and venue is reflected in the price.

From the moment you are welcomed in to the moment you are helped on with your coat on the way out the experience is excellent. The food is piping hot and served very quickly. The fish is always lovely and fresh and the batter excellent. They do a pensioner 'special' which is very nice and there is a piano player on a Tuesday and Wednesday lunch! You feel like you are on holiday!

Myself and 14 work friends decided to go here for our Christmas Lunch. We opted for the set menu which actually had about 6 main course and dessert options. There was also tea or coffee included and most of us opted for a Christmas tipple. Overall we all paid £15.50 which was cracking value for money.
The welcome was very warm and we were very well looked after throughout. Nothing was too much trouble.
We were seated in the orangery which is lovely and the pianist was very enjoyable.
A great choice of venue and we will all be returning in the New Year.

I love going to Olympus, we have been several times, as you are always met with such a warm welcome, quick service, good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Their small appetite special is great value. I wish other restaurants in Bolton would have as good customer service as Olympus do, I'm sure that's one the main reasons they are always so popular. Thanks again!

I Visited Olympus Fish & Chips Restaurant, and was amazed at how efficiently the staff show you to a table and your own individual seating after you arrive into the restaurant,You decide once you been seated by a member of staff, what you would like to order, then you go and pay at the till and order your meal and can also choose if you wish a desert.
Once you have then ordered and paid, you return to your own individual table and the pleasant, very polite and helpful staff come with your order.
I ordered the fish and chips with peas, along with a small pot of tea, along with two brown slices of bread. This only came to £8.50 which i thought for the price was more than reasonable.
I could have ordered one of the 5 deserts as well for a couple of extra pounds, but decided not to on this occasion.
It doesn't surprise me that this place does get very busy and is very popular with not just the Bolton people, but other individuals who come further afield to sample the food here.
The interior of the Olympus Fish and Chips Restaurant is very posh, with regards to how they have decided to decorate/furnish the restaurant and the staff as i have said, are very helpful and will go out of their way.
The Fish and Chips and side order of peas that i ordered here, was very Delicious, the fish just melted in your mouth and the batter was very crispy and lovely.
The pot of tea easily made 4 cups of tea,and for a cold day in November when i eat here, was what i needed.
Olympus Fish and Chips Restaurant is open 6 days a week. From Monday till Saturday.
I think the opening times are from 11am,but please check times with the Restaurant.
They have been established in Bolton now for well over 20 years and i am certain they will be around for a long time yet to come.
My own personal rating on this restaurant is 9/10 and i have no doubts that i will be returning back to this restaurant in the near future

This is a Fish & Chip restaurant with class. From first entering, where the door is opened for you, to leaving when your coat is held whilst you up it on; this is a pleasurable experience from start to finish. In the restaurant is a Grand Piano which is played whilst you eat the most succulent fried fish served to you in double quick time.
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. The owner runs a tight ship and the emphasis is on service and the customer. How it should be !
Highly recommended.

Have just come back from Cornwall where we ate fish and chips in some very well-known cafes. And, believe me, Nothing but NOTHING measures up to our Olympus in Bolton. Now I accept that fish and chips is a very subjective dish- what goes into the batter, degree to which the chips are browned etc etc. But even allowing for all this I honestly can't imagine Olympus being bettered anywhere in Britain for taste, service and generally civilised surroundings. A pensioners' special every Friday is one of the highlights of my week- this might seem sad but if you order a cod and chips with bread and tea at Olympus you'll understand what I mean. And as it's Friday lunchtime that's where we're off to now.....

Monday, 6pm, hungry. Discovered Olympus. Wow. Staff friendly, helpful & the teapot was on the table before I had finished ordering! The fish & chips were perfect. Crispy light batter & non greasy chips. I do not like mushy peas but these were lovely. Best fish & chips I've had & I've had some good ones. Visiting again asap to hear the pianist while I enjoy more f & c.

Myself and my partner ate here on a Friday night and were surprised when they had a piano player playing some fantastic music whilst we were tucking into our food.

This is a large and spacious establishment, with polite and friendly staff and a credit to Bolton.

I had the cod "Just Enough" special. The fish was coooked beautifully, chips were not greasy and I also ordered mushy peas which were tasty and didn't have a nasty bicarb flavour afterwards. My partner had the steak pudding "Just Enough" meal and he found his to be as equally tasty and great value for money.

I would 100% recommend this place to others. My parents used to run a fish and chip restaurant so I know quality when I taste it, and it makes it taste even better in such great surrounings.

We will be visiting again very soon!

Being bolton born and bred i actually don't like to visit bolton town centre...the only reason we head that way is to visit this fantastic restaurant.
Being a non drinker i love a meal out, me and my husband eat out alot and enjoy trying new places....Olympus is amazing.
Good old fish and chips you can't beat it... pair that with being served by the most lovely of staff, who are pleasant, smile and really do want you to enjoy the overall experience.
For those who say it's over priced, It really isn't, it's cheaper for a take away or visit another bolton town platic chair cafe, but isn't that to be expected! the service, the atmosphere and the piano and other events they put on are well worth it...i'd pay extra every time to sit and enjoy a good brew (not cheap rubbish teabags) eat well and enjoy the orangery and pleasant surrounding all the while enjoying the A1 service.... best by far... well done to all of them who work there great food great service great atmosphere.

I really enjoy going to the Olympus, the service is excellent always greater t the door and directed to a table. The food is good.I first went in for a pensioners special although I was not a pensioner at the time. The portion is just a little bit smaller but just as good. I have been a pensioner for a number of years now and still like the specials.

I would recommend anyone to go to this restaurant whatever age. You can still buy specials.

Very high standard. If Fish and Chips are your thing, then this is definitely worth a visit. The guy who owns/runs the place takes his business very seriously and that certainly shows. Food standard, service and menu variety all excellent!

This place is always busy mainly with pensioners who get an offer. It's a glorified chippy but expensive. Try Alice's on Churchgate the food is better, menu the same.

Being from Bolton this is the first time I had ventured into Olympus and it certainly won't be the last. I ordered chips, pie and peas which arrived promptly despite it being a busy part of the day and unlike many other establishments it was cooked and tasted as it should without any excess grease or fat. The setting was very welcoming and there was service with a smile and a valued word for each and every customer regardless of their age/group. There was also a man playing the piano in the middle of the diners and the place was very modern and spotlessly clean. Valued service = returning custom. You can see why it is a popular place in Bolton and beyond and it is well worth paying that bit extra for.

The restaurant is very classy, with plenty of friendly, smartly dressed staff. We had fish, chips and peas, followed by homemade apple pie and custard. All the food is freshly prepared and very well presented. The service was excellent. Will certainly go back again.

While in Bolton came across this fantastic fish & chip restaurant warmly greeted as soon as I entered. Enjoyed the pensioners special, which was perfect for a light lunch, including bread & butter and lots of tea, superb value, and very clean. And everything cooked to perfection.
