I brought 24 people to eat here as part of an organised day trip from Birmingham . They open the door for you, nothing is too much trouble, I have not had better fish and chips since my childhood and we were all very impressed. Its no surprise that the waiters and waitress were all superb as owner Tassos leads from the front, chats to customers, clears tables and provides superlative customer service. As part of a group booking offer we returned for a cream tea and Tassos had a superb pianist on his grand piano who played suitable music and requests. An oasis in the centre of Bolton, The scones were delicious and are made by Tassos Mum to whom we were introduced, As we left we were helped to put coats on. If you want to impress your partner or a prospective partner take them here!. We will return.

Lovely atmosphere and surrounding, clean and fresh, modern style inside. A pianist added a lovely touch, making it a peaceful lunch. Service is above all, staff extremely friendly and helpful, even assisting customers with their coats. The meal itself was the best i've had in the area, with numerous meal deals.

No better fish and chips in the area. Always excellent service and great food. Spotlessly clean, great new toilet, grand piano, it is an experience. Bit pricey but worth it. Always busy tells its own story.

It's a few years since I last visited the Olympus Fish & Chip Restaurant so when I found myself in Bolton town centre one lunchtime, I decided to try it again.

After being politely welcomed by a smartly dressed member of staff, I was invited to choose a table. Once seated, a menu & cutlery were placed on the table within seconds. The menu always has a pensioners' special. There are also Just Enough, Standard & Whopper sized fish &chip meals on the menu. The Standard portion of fish includes chips, peas & a slice of white or brown bread. Beverages include a choice of :- a pot of tea, cup of coffee or a soft drink. The Standard meal costs £8.60 which is rather expensive in my opinion but the fish (Haddock) was beautiful.

When customers are leaving the restaurant, staff help cusomers on with their coats & always open the door for them, at the same time thanking them for their custom.

The Olympus restaurant has been a landmark of Bolton town centre (my home town) for many many years, serving customers from its restaurant and adjoining 'chippy'. I believe it has been owned by the same Greek family throughout its life.

The Olympus offers great food at a relatively premium price (in comparison to a traditional chippy) but it does represent excellent value given the standard of the food and surroundings.

There is a huge dining area (75+ covers), lots of extremely polite and attentive staff and the dining area itself has just been renovated to an extremely high standard.

If you are in Bolton for the day I urge you to visit this place and have lunch - you wont regret it. It offers traditional fish and chips and true hospitality. It is what Harry Ramsden's used to be!

Other restaurants could learn a lot from the Olympus.

This place is legend. Young and old and everyonen in between love this place. The fish, chips and mushy peas are absolutely oustanding. I would say that the Olympus is one of the best restaurants of its kind in the country. The place is spotless, the service exemplary and the interior, recently refurbished, is fit for a king. I know the owner Tassos personally looks after many of his regular customers - and they do return week after week because of the ambience of the place. This is no back street chippy - this is a palace to Britain's great national dish. The food is just fantastic with lovely white firm cod and haddock, perfect mushy peas and great, non greasy chips. If you come to Bolton you really must try it - you won't forget it.

This eatery in the field it represents is as good as it gets. In fact this is the best fish and chips I have sat down to eat since we dined in a similar establishment in the Northumberland fishing village of Seahouses; that was 30 years ago!

It costs £8.60 for a special meal served with a drink and bread and butter; not cheap by any means but when you enjoy your dining experience as much as we did the cost is secondary. But it has to be said there are much cheaper options on the menu.

The multitude of Staff work tirelessly for Customers, and you will never see them standing around. This is from the minute they open the door for you, till they help you on with your coat when you leave. The Management should give themselves a big pat on the back for having such a motivated workforce.

The rain was responsible for our decision to eat, thank you to the rain and we will be back asap.

Pleasant, clean restaurant, warm personal friendly greeting. Food well cooked, served hot. Made to feel that we mattered to the staff. Service was quick and efficient, although very busy there was no pressure for us to hurry. An enjoyable experience. Will be back for more

An oasis of old style service and courtesy in an often bustling and distracted world. My wife and I visited during a weekday lunchtime. Greeted with genuine courtesy as we entered, a variety of tables were suggested, but we were also offered the opportunity to select our own seats.
Premises are very clean, tables, carpets etc and is well lit and decorated to a good and tasteful standard. Space between tables is generous so there is no feeling of being crammed in that you encounter in many eateries.
Food was of high quality and there is a wide variety of choice and size of meals on the menu. This business is very popular and caters equally well for singles, couples, families and senior citizens. Staff efficient but not overbearing.
There is also a traditional takeaway "Chippy" for those who are really pressed for time.
The proprietor and family are always in attendance and ensure that things run smoothly. Our waiter assisted my wife with her coat as we left , and proprietor himself worked the door as a meeter and greeter. Service and courtesy of a standard that I thought was extinct. Would not hesitate to recommend

We have been going to the Olympus for many years and have always had excellant food, always hot and freshly cooked, o.k. there are cheaper places to eat fish and chips but I doubt anywhere else is as tasty, the service is fast and for me that is the one down side here, it is to fast, the staff are almost running around the restaurant and I'm sure many customers must feel as though they are in and out in double quick time, please slow down a little and let people have a relaxed meal. That said that is the only reason I marked 4/5 everything else is superb, and I would not hesitate to recommed the Olympus.

You wopuld never believe you were in a fish and chip resturant when you walk in. Met at the door led to a table service brilliant. We have been a few times this year. My only fault is early in the year I asked if they were open Good Friday and on each visit up to Easter, I could not get a reply from the staff. I dont know or we dont know yet. I got no answer so did not bother again.

This family run restaurant in the centre of Bolton really knows how to give the best customer service. Customers are greeted warmly at the door and taken to their table, staff are helpful and respectful, and the surroundings are exceptional. When sitting in the recently extended conservatory or in the toilets you could be forgive for thinking that you are in a five star restaurant. On top of all this, the food is excellent, and good value.

Not to be missed if you are in Bolton!

The best fish and chips I have ever tasted. This is no cafe! It is a Greek fish and chip restaurant. Excellent service and surroundings. 10/10

We eat at the Olympus at least once a week, and the service is always excellent, with very attentive staff who always go the extra mile (they like to help you put your coat on when you leave). The food is excellent and very good value for money, especially considering the 'posh' atmosphere they have created (there is often a live pianist playing at the back of the restaurant).

The deserts are also mouthwateringly delicious.

My friends and I have been regulars at the Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant for several years. We go back time and again for the great fish and chips, excellent service and friendly atmosphere.

Over the last twenty or so years the Olympus has expanded and been refurbished to the highest standard. Fixtures and fittings are modern and stylish, especially in the loos. As the floorspace has increased, so has the number of customers and the place is always busy. But the family who own it have never lost sight of how to treat their customers. You are greeted warmly, shown to your table, helped with your coat etc and given the menu. Once ordered, your food arrives quickly and the waiters always check to see that all is well. On some days there is a pianist at the grand piano, at other times recorded music is played at just the right volume.

The menu of course is fish, chips and mushy peas, but also includes pies, chicken, salads etc. Wine and beer are also available. It's great for a workday lunchtime treat and since extending its opening times, ideal for a pre-theatre meal.

You can get take away fish and chips at the adjoining shop if you don't want to eat in.

An oasis in the middle of a rundown town centre. Each time we have visited there has been a very professional sounding pianist playing classical music as you eat your 6 out of 10 fish and chips and delicious home made puddings. Very good value....and the toilets well like a 5 star Marriott!!

We had a meal before going to a show in Bolton as our birthdays are on the same day. When the staff found out they came over to our table sang 'Happy Birthday' as well as giving us cake with candles this was such a lovely gesture Since then because of the delicious food and friendly management and staff we have visited Olympus quite a few times.

I know it isn't a hotel! But you could be forgiven for thinking you were in one! Beautiful surroundings ,older fashioned service but wonderful! Fish and chips good, but not the best ever but what the heck its worth visiting for the experience alone. Well done Olympus and all who sail in her!!!!!

From walking through the door, to leaving you are treated in a first class way from polite, attentive, respectful staff. They watch for you leaving to help you with your coats, open doors, ask you your preferred seating place, nothing is too much trouble. Food exceptional and if you dont fancy the famous fish there is a fabulous choice of other dishes. A most highly recommended eating establishment, certainly the best in Bolton.
