A revisit to the murcur Blackrod. The place has has an uplift and looked good.. we had trouble booking a taxi during a busy period for an important meeting... Irene stepped in saved the day with the greatest of care and attention and even came out later to check it had arrived.... this is good old fashioned customer care at its best.

We attended the Mac Millan coffee and cake event on 26th September. It was well organised by Nadine and well laid out with a good choice of cakes. Staff were very friendly and a we we're happy to contribute to a worthy cause.

What a hotel! They are accommodating to all your needs! Great staff…. Nadine (the manager) is very welcoming! You should always stay here for the Bolton cup! Great location.

Everything is a bit outdated, no plugs near the bed. On the other hand, super friendly staff and some huge fitness rooms (biggest I've seen in a hotel yet) with all kinds of gear. Quiet.

Breakfast was good, they accept dogs which was a plus, big car park and the price was fair. The rooms need an update but for what you pay it’s alright.

Service excellent. Room was tired. There was a blown too window which requires replacelment. The over bath shower is very weak. The sealant along the bottom\floor of the bath require renewing. On the plus side the beds are comfortable and the room is clean. The breakfast is a buffet style breakfast with a full English, toast, cerial and continental, so all is well there. Overall I know that the superior rooms have been revampec, so maybe you had best spend extra. Outside is where I have the main gripe, as the hotel is used for weddings I was astounded by all the empty cans, bottles and cigarettes ends all over the path leading to the rear door. Also the gardens could really have someone give them the attention they really could benefit from.

Due to a last minute booking, we were given an accessible room. The shower and bathroom furniture were in good condition and seem appropriate to someone with mobility issues. The room itself was spacious enough. However, the carpet was stained and the decor tired. Additionally, the view from the window (which had no privacy screen other than the curtains) left a lot to be desired and the lack of AC was keenly felt, with little ventilation available through the window. The fans we obtained from reception were small and very noisy.

Just like to say how I was looked after whilst having a business meeting in the lounge area. Ordered coffees and was very well looked after by Irene. She is a credit to the hotel. Thanks Irene, Andy.

It's just all a bit tired, and need of some TLC. There were problems with the door lock cards, then the room phone wouldn't work, so a room swap was needed. And the charges at the bar were a bit steep. Breakfasts OK though.

Fabulous stay, very clean and great service. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, especially Julie and Irene. Lovely breakfast and the service in the hair salon was brilliant. Will definitely be back

Great service from Ramzan.. looked after us when going through difficult stressful time and made me feel welcome and safe.. food is delicious and chef is amazing. The rooms are superb more like little apartment’s suites. They’ve welcomed my cats to stay which is really nice and greatful as they was in cattery for 2 months and I missed them desperately.
Friends and family been allowed to visit and use the facilities. Really recommend. The saloon was amazing too

Myself and my partner stayed over night at the hotel last night to relax and have a night away we booked this hotel as it had a swimming and gym ……. Mmmmmm no it doesn’t it was closed down in Feb we was told when checking in so we were slightly gutted but we didn’t know

Hotel staff friendly,Breakfast was decent for a buffet and food was warm.Bar area is ok.The issue here are the rooms.Original room had windows that didn't shut properly due to latches being broke and then the replacement room which looked like a upgraded room also has windows that were faulty.They closed but had small gaps at the bottom.Bathroom needed to be refurbished.No sockets by bed.Although the room and hotel appeared very clean.You can hear some traffic noise but that is likely due to the windows.
