An excellent hotel just off the M61 motorway. Good size bedroom with good facilities. The breakfast, cooked to order, was particularly good served by friendly and efficient staff. The hotel has a pleasant bar.

Stayed recently as the hotel was recomended highly for the Bolton Health and safety exhibition. Really large rooms with large beds and everything you'd expect. Clean Modern bathrooms with good showers. Buffet breakfast really nice and value for money.

We have just held my parents 40th wedding anniversary and renewal of vows service here. We had the most amazing time from start to end. From the minute I contacted the sales team I knew this was the venue for us. I can not compliment Louise enough. Nothing was to muh trouble before the event and she devoted her time to us on the day for whatever we needed. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. It's a beautiful venue for any occasion and I truly recommend the venue. Thank you once again for the amazing service we received

Was very pleased with the size of the room and beds bit old fashioned bathroom but clean and functional. Was pleasantly surprised with the gym and amount of equipment the swimming pool was ideal for our 5 year old and we enjoyed the stay overall.

We had the most wonderful welcome and introduction to the venue from the very friendly staff. The room was well decorated and co-ordinated and colorful with continuous music and entertainment. The meal was delicious and plentiful, and all the staff generally did their best to make sure we had a good time. The mainly young staff did everything they could to serve drinks, clear away and keep all of us well taken care of all night, nothing was too much trouble - who says the youth of today don't work hard?? Yes they do and the general overall manager was ever present, pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend going again and staying over next time. We are looking at future events there for our works do. Book yourself a good time.

My friends and I stayed over night after Christmas party, it was fantastic. All the staff worked really hard to make sure it was a brilliant night. I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and never had a bad experience. All the staff are brilliant from the receptionist, party organisers to bar staff.

hotel was situated near motorway easy access no noise from traffic rooms and hotel were very clean ,we went for a sit down meal for our sons presentation trophy night the food served was very poor for the cost and price of drinks were extortinate bottle of house wine £22 pint of lager £4.40 upwards red bull and vodka £10 so if you have big pockets book here or dont eat and drink shame really as hotel was nice.

I stayed in the hotel for 1 night following an event in Bolton. When we arrived there were a number of our group whose names had not been given to the hotel so they had no room or their names had been mixed up and people were sharing with people they didn't know.

Carrie on reception was absolutely amazing. She took it all in her stride, she did not get stressed, stayed completely calm and made sure everyone ended up either with a room or sharing with the correct person. I would like to say a massive thank you to her. First class service!! I would go back and stay there again just on how she handled the situation!!!

My partner and I had an overnight stay at the Mercure Bolton mainly because of it's close proximity to a local eatery that we were attending at a fancy dress party. The Mercure was very good, it provided a good clean double room (although a little small). The bed was very comfortable and tea and coffee were available in the room. Unfortunately we were only given one bath towel between us both, a little disappointing as it was a double room!! However as it was only for a single night I would visit here again.

Caution!!! We had a drink in the bar before our evening out and the cost of four drinks was just short of £20. This was for 1 pint, 1 sherry (served in the wrong glass and it could not have been a shorter measure plus a glass of white wine and a G&T. Breakfast, which we declined because of the price, looked very good but less than a mile along the road we were able to get an absolutely marvellous breakfast for less than £24 , for all of us. A saving of over £20,

In conclusion I think the hotel was overpriced at £60 (without breakfast) and do not be taken in by the 'Georgian House' title. It may have been 'Georgian' a couple of centurys ago but now it is an 80's hotel with a fine sounding name.

I have stayed at this Hotel many times over the last 30 years and it is generally fine, but on my last visit the duvet cover on the bed in my Suite appeared not to have been washed properly and had two large brown stains on it. The Hotel was apologetic but this was a big disappointment.

We stayed here two nights with Newmarket Holidays. Our room was very clean and comfortable although the room was a little too warm at times. We had a pre-booked meal which was OK but would have preferred something from the brassiere menu had we of stayed independently. The help yourself buffet breakfast was good. We did expect an iron and trouser press in our room but there wasn't one? (perhaps my daughter misunderstood the website?) but I did read on the welcome brochure you could obtain one from Reception. Overall, a good base to stay as part of a coach tour but without a car nothing around if you want to leave the hotel for the evening. Would happily stay here again.

Arrived friday with a lovely warm feeling after a tiring driving trip, meeted and greeted by friendly smiley staff. Room spacious, clean and just how i like a hotel room to be, "comfortable and luxurious, shower was lovely, spa facilities marvellous, I met and chatted to Isabell who made my experience at breakfast inviting and I feel Isabell shows passion in her work, lovely lovely lady, had a nice chat about her work, certainly made a big impresssion of the hotel and I enjoy seeing staff eager in their role, the bar staff where professional, makes all the e difference when I stay away from home,
Lovely hotel certainly recommend to all

Thank you for a lovely weekend xxxx

A little tired around the edges the focus of the room seemed to be yo fit as many beds in as possible. With a double and two singles filling one side of the room. I got the impression it was used a lot by tradesmen working in the area based on the other guests and the inclination to accommodate as many people as possible into a room. The corridor smelt very strongly of swimming pool (situated on the floor below) the hotel and room were clean enough just a little dated.

The room faced the road so was noisy in the early evening.

Room service was punctual, both breakfast and evening meal were reasonable in quality if a little over priced for what you get.

I would probably be inclined to try somewhere else even opting for a B and B if I was in the area again to see how other accommodation differs.

Reception area looks nice and inviting but my experience of this hotel was spoiled by my experience in the room. The room was too hot even with the window open (which subjected us to road traffic noise), the beds were hard and uncomfortable and the bathroom door squeaked terribly (so no sneaking quietly to the loo).

Wanting just an overnight stay and expecting an OK stopover we were very very pleasantly surprised.
The receptionist was most welcoming and exremely helpful in arranging taxis for us; the room was quiet, clean and fresh with comfortable beds and stunning views over the West Penine Moors.
Everything worked fine; absolutely nothing not to like and a very good price by booking (and paying) well in advance. (We were attending a family get together so didn't need to be flexible about arrangements).

My son and I used this as a stop over, picked due to it's location and car park size as we had a large boat in tow, the hotel was pretty average, clean, ok leisure facilities (although we couldn't find a member of staff and had to find our own towels), but generally ok however the staff in the hotel were really good, one lady at the bar opened the restaurant for my son and I as there was a wedding on and the bar was full, she couldn't do enough for us and the food we had was fantastic, really good quality, breakfast was pretty good, but dinner was amazing.

stayed here overnight on a coronation street tour. the room was bright and airy and very clean - asked for a twin room which we did get however the beds were pushed together and had to move a table and chair to be able to split the beds. breakfast was really nice and plenty to choose from. my only complaint was the price of the bar - glass of wine £5 ! other than that no complaints would stay there again .

It does not look very imposing from the outside, but what a difference when you step inside, a great find, ideally located for the nearby motorway, and shops near the Macron Arena.
Staff are genuinely friendly, rooms are well furnished and modern, comfy bed, walk in large shower (with a great pressure), restaurant was also very good, with a good variation in dishes
