Lovely hotel and just a shame that children are allowed to run up and down corridors at 12 midnight What stands out are the surroundings, the beautiful setting but, mostly, the staff. They are the best staff we have ever come across anywhere in the world. Cannot do enough for you. Special mention for Julie who looked after us so well on our first morning and also our cleaner Amelia who was a delight. Was not clear what time breakfast times were and so we did not get our cooked breakfast on the second morning. Even the chap behind reception said that he confused by them. Also, a young lady on reception did not know that Emerson also own Smithhills which is shown in the large picture behind the desk. Would have thought that was a fact that should have been mentioned during training.

The Last Drop Hotel and Spa is a fabulous place to stop when staying in Bolton. I arrved to the hotel, managed to find a parking space in the hotel carpark (not the Spa / Pool / Gym) and parked up. Check in was easy, and the room was super comfortable and big !! I was able to spread my clothes for the next day out on the second bed - and relax for the evening in front of the TV.

Breakfast was OK, a relatively standard UK hotel offer of a hot and cold buffet. Checkout was clean and easy - and I will stay there again when next needing to be in the North West.
The only challenge is parking. The regular users of the Gym and Pool - park in the hotel carpark - because it is a shorter walk for them to the pool and Gym. If one is having to either carry bags in or out - it is a bit of a trek to the carpark when you have cases. Apart from this - there isn't anything negative to say.

Great location with a fabulous 'Spa' Food is consistently good and the staff are a credit to the Hotel. We had a lovely room which was spacious and quiet (except for children running up and down the corridor at midnight) Cannot blame the hotel for that - just the parents. Special mention for Julie in the restaurant, Amelia who cleaned our room and the young lady on reception whose name escapes me but has a dog called Buddy! Thank you for another lovely stay. We live near now so we will be regular visitors.

A great resort hotel. Exceptional spa facilities and evening meal. Attentive staff. Breakfast could be improved by adding rolls; cheese; ham and salad to make a full continental alternative to the cooked selection (which is good, but not wanted by all). Ability to book family room appreciated - a need for us, with a disabled adult daughter. Look forward to staying again. Good value for money.

Leisure Break Location was good and the room was good. Didn't really use the facilities I am disabled and I had to walk down a long corridor then up some steps and through another corridor before I got to my room on 1st floor.

the hotel was very nice: typical english cottage style, nice SPA and treatements, beutiful surroundings in nature and silence.
a bit far from town and difficult to reach without a car but very relaxing.
the spa time was unfortunately limited to 50 minutes, which is not a lot if your purpose is to come to relax

Stayed for a brief overnight trip to attend an event. The rooms are spacious but basic. (No fridge- limited tea and coffee) Beds big and comfortable . Bathrooms are on the small side and look ready for an update. The breakfast was delicious albeit slightly chaotic running out of lots of items. However all the staff are really friendly and you get a warm welcome. Didnt try the spa but it looked very popular.

Loved the spa and pool. But my time slot I booked was so busy, shouldn’t book that many people in at once in my opinion. Rooms need updated furniture to more modern, new carpets needed in my opinion, bathroom was really nice and modern though. I was in room 22 in the courtyard was good location as close to the pub and main reception and restaurant. Maybe some soundproof in rooms needed could hear next door talking all night kept me awake and they kept playing music that’s not the hotels fault though. I would stay again but would definitely ask for a time when the spa is more empty

Is it not time you updated your advertising to reflect the hotel is now in the middle of a housing estate that has now been built and NOT surrounded by fields, the infinity pool looks on into peoples houses and not over open fields. The tea rooms are not even open and have been shut since covid. £4.50 for a coffee and you can not even serve it with a small biscuit, it is time to advertise it as it is and NOT how it was. We stayed in a dog friendly room and the carpet was dirty and stained, the wall under the window had a large water stain mark and on one of our 4 night stay the bathroom was not cleaned.

Very pleasant staff, very charming hotel, and excellent swimming pool!
The bar is very welcoming and warm, the village with the little shops is so cute, it’s a shame we couldn’t stay longer…

Stayed for three nights over a weekend. Our room was in "The Courtyard". The room had enough space and very clean. It can get noisy even late at night. I room ask for a room in the main hotel if you are a light sleeper.
The SPA is a great addition but people were taking mobile phones into the area and no one was pointing out that it was not allowed.

We had a good stay at the Last Drop, with just a couple of reasons why it wasn’t a perfect stay

Check in was easy and friendly although we had to go back and ask about our vouchers included in the rate as they were forgotten

We had an executive cottage which was wonderful. Very spacious with everything we would have wanted. A nice touch was a couple of bottles of water and chocolates in the room. It was also very private.

The spa area was good. A pool, another heated pool, with one side open, with water jets which overlooked housing (an issue if you want to look over greenery, but we just found it funny) and a few steam rooms. It’s a fairly basic spa compared to other spa hotels, but fine considering the price

The evening 2 course meal in the courtyard restaurant was brilliant. The majority was included in the room rate, with a couple of meals in the menu with a surcharge. I struggled to pick, as there was so much choice that was up my street, and the quality was outstanding. Up there with the best food I’ve ever had. Service was top notch. Breakfast was not of the same standard and was a fairly average buffet with only one choice of egg (scrambled).

The courtyard bar within the hotel itself was nice. However we didn’t like the pub. Firstly people smoking at the door so had to go through clouds of smoke to enter. This isn’t the hotels fault as there is loads of space outside. There was a darts tournament on, so not really a warm, friendly environment for hotel guests. They took up most tables. The only free tables hadn’t been cleaned and were pretty disgusting. We didn’t stay and walked out without purchasing a drink. However it wasn’t much of an issue as we went straight back to the courtyard bar - it was good to have 2 options and I think we just stayed on the wrong night.

The cost of the one night break, considering what was included, was amazing. We also got a better deal booking directly with the hotel than using a Wowcher offer. We would definitely return for the price we paid as it was such good value

Check in was smooth sailing, the receptionist Rosie, made sure all our needs was catered to and even showed us to our room when we got lost! I couldn't of hoped for a better person to make this process really smooth! She provided us with our options for dinner and breakfast the next morning. All over 10/10 service! Thank you Rosie!

We’ve just stayed here for the weekend for my fiancé’s birthday. We loved our weekend and will definitely come again.

We booked treatments at the spa a few months in advance, on our email I couldn’t find how soon we needed to arrive for our spa treatments. My partner rang up before we set off from our house to double check and whoever answered the phone was very rude, told him we should have been there at 9am and wouldn’t let him speak (he’s not even given our name or appointment time at this point). After the woman had finished talking he advised her our treatments were not until 12pm. The person on the phone then advised right well you need to be here at 11:45 then, and said ‘well I will send your FIANCÉ the email again then’. I’m still waiting for this email now 😂 Naturally this made us feel very excited to go and spend the weekend with this 💩 customer service 😂

However when we arrived the staff in the spa were all absolutely lovely and very welcoming. We had Espa wraps and our skin felt amazing after and would definitely recommend. We then went to the swimming pool however there were a few families with small children splashing and playing etc. so we just went straight to the thermal suite which is adults only. My only improvement (aside from the phone call we’d had in the morning) for the spa would be everyone gets spa sandals/flip flops as we didn’t get any.

Check in staff were very nice and let us have the room early as it was ready. We stayed in room 78. The room was very nice and spacious, modern bathroom, TV, kettle, iron etc. We tried to order room service but nobody answered so ended up getting a takeaway dropped off instead. Our smoke alarm did go off briefly because my partner left the bathroom door open for a minute after the shower

We also booked a table at the Courtyard. The staff were very friendly and food was absolutely amazing.
My partner had the steak which he said was cooked perfectly, I opted for the pork belly. We both got 3 courses with drinks and it came to around £100 which we thought was very reasonable.

We would definitely stay again. Would have given 5* had it not been for the phone call before we arrived.

Me, my sister and mum all enjoyed staying here in the cottages! Food and services were on point! We went for the revive 50 package. The spa was amazing! Not too busy to not enjoy but not a lot of sun beds to sit on inside but it wasn’t a big problem as we enjoyed the thermal suit and weekend pool. The treatments were lovely and relaxing. Thanks to Lydia who I had, she was brilliant! Overall we all had a fab time and if I could afford to I would have stayed longer haha.
