Great spa The spa was great . The flurry of emails trying to upsell prior to arrival whilst leaving out critical information like you were entitled to use the spa from 6am to 1pm

Stayed for one night on the NHS Thank You rate, paying £129 in total for a “classic” double room, with bed, breakfast and evening meal, plus off peak access to the spa included.

The hotel was very nice and we found our room to be clean and comfortable, fitted with a fairly new looking bathroom. There are a number of shops on site although these were closed, presumably as it was a bank holiday. The site is located amidst some nice countryside, with Jumbles Country Park and Turton Tower nearby, which we enjoyed exploring - the website has a map showing local walks.

Our room rate gave us access to the spa after 19:00 and before 13:00, however we were disappointed to learn on arrival that, due to the August bank holiday, the spa would be closing at 20:00. This was the main disappointment of our stay and it is not made clear on the website, nor is any reduced rate offered to reflect the fact that we essentially missed out on 2 hours of spa access (normal closing time is 22:00) on day 1. An alternative option might be to allow guests to access the spa earlier than usual on days when it will be closing early. Luckily we were able to change our evening meal booking to a later time, so that we could use the spa from 19:00-20:00.

The spa was quite nice, containing a couple of saunas, steam rooms and aromatherapy room, plus a hydrotherapy pool. Sadly things were winding down when we went in on Monday as the saunas were not as hot as they were the following morning (presumably they were in the process of shutting down for the night). I particularly enjoyed the hydrotherapy pool, however it was a shame that they have built a housing estate right in front of it, which now fills what I’m sure was once a lovely view. We found the facilities a little basic and dated; I’ll admit I’ve seen better spas, but for what we paid I’d say it was excellent.

We had tea and breakfast in the Courtyard Restaurant - both meals were very nice and I would look forward to going again. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the Courtyard Bar, although the Drop Inn looked fairly quiet and so we decided to give that one a miss.

The bed in our room was very comfy, and overall we slept pretty well. However for some unknown reason the room got really hot as we slept and this wasn’t pleasant when I woke up in the middle of the night. Floorboards were a bit creeky, so I was able to hear movement from the room above, however this was not a major issue.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would come back again! While there were a few niggles, and some of the facilities are somewhat dated, I would say that the value for money is excellent and I look forward to a future trip.

A countryside gem Large comfy room, staff were so welcoming in the reception, bar and restaurant Checking that all light bulbs in the room work and hangers are in the wardrobe before a guest comes would be helpful

relaxing and recharging SPA outside of town very nice area, good spa and treatments. the place is a typical English country cottage spread to many cottages, very well maintained, peaceful, lovely.
the staff was nice but unfortunately a bit slow in the service (20 minutes for a cappuccino which was not warm....)
also, the elevator is missing but it is not too bad if the staff is helping. Recommended if you want a week end out of the city and the stress
service a bit slow, coffee was not warm. But staff was helpful

Lacked personal experience. We enjoyed the unique village building feel to the acomodation however the location has a new housing estate built around it. The pool and spa looked great however we did not use them on this visit. We were disappointed with only 1 towel in the room. The room lacked luxury / extras for the price paid. Breakfast was ok but would expect a menu and the cooked breakfast option for the price.

If you’re on a wowcher deal you may be treated rudely by spa staff. The bedrooms are fine, brand new bathroom. Breakfast was nice, food is cooked to order. Very disappointed with the spa, wasn’t offered any treatments and fizz never materialised.

Attractive hotel, comfortable stay. Attractive hotel with good facilities. Very comfy bed, clean bathroom with good shower. Good choice at breakfast. Tea at breakfast was not hot. The village tea shop has not been open since before covid, but is still advertised on the website.

Lovely place and clean rooms! Loved the quirky layout, the fact it is actually a mini village was great! The heated towel rail was on full blast and it turned the room into a sauna!

Every member of staff we spoke to were polite and made us feel most welcome. The place itself is lovely. All the food we had was really nice. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The spa facilities were great and the massage was the best I've ever had. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and will be going back and hopefully for a longer stay.

We went as a couple for a relaxing spa break. The staff were helpful and friendly. The service in the bar, restaurant, reception and spa was excellent. The location is fantastic, we walked around the village and the local area. We downloaded the complimentary maps and took some of the circular walks. Our room was comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. There were nice little touches, the toiletries were the same brand as the spa treatments. the spa, pool and gym were all clean and relaxing to be in. The spa treatments were well organised and relaxing. While the location is relaxing and scenic the train station is a 20 minute walk with direct trains to Manchester for a day out. We could leave the car parked for the whole time we were there. We will be going back to the Last Drop soon.

Nice room , basic amenities , comfortable bed. Liked the last drop village shops. Breakfast was okay. Took a while to serve coffee and refill hot breakfast on the buffet. New housing estate spoilt views. Thermal suite was 16+ only which was disappointing for 13 year old daughter as we went for a girly treat. Used glasses left out in the car park .
