The surrounding area is gorgeous, with a nice 15 minute walk to shops like the co-op.
Our first three nights we had the standard room which was located in a small courtyard with fountain next to it. It was next to the bar and restaurant-which was convenient. The standard room was so clean, and also a good price and size!
We extended another night and upgraded to the next room type- which is considerably better. The receptionist was able to check us in early to our next room which was very kind of her and made it so we could go to our new room and not be disturbed- thank you to her and the HSK team for their quick work!
The spa was amazing. We got our moneys worth! The main pool was lovely and cool, and the thermal pool nice and hot. The middle sauna, blue lighted steam room were fantastic and relaxing. There was an issue with the halo-therapy room and one steam room in that it smelt badly like a mixture of sweat and urine- not sure if that was the aim of it, however I wasn’t a fan of inhaling those smells so I chose to avoid it. My partner and I had 2 treatments each. The first, a massage, back scrub and scalp massage. My partner hates massages but this may have changed his mind. Then the next day, a full body massage each. My partner and I, however tender the days after, feel amazing, and I can see a definite change in the way he is carrying himself.
There was a fantastic spa worker with blonde hair and a hearing aid- sorry, I didn’t get her name, but she was a dream. So chatty and welcoming! She looked quite stressed one day, but she was incredibly patient and hardworking to myself and other patrons waiting to be served. We never felt like an inconvenience to her, so thank you!
The bar and restaurant staff were fantastic- especially the gentleman with brown hair and glasses-I believe he was the bar supervisor. The staff made our drinks quickly and were nice to chat with. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely. The food was hot and quick. The only issue we had with breakfast was room service on our first day- we learnt our lesson! Having already prepaid for breakfast in our booking, to the room incurred an additional £8 per person tray charge. We were on holiday, so didn’t mind… until we saw how much food we got. My partner wanted sausages, eggs, beans and bacon…. He got 1 small sausage, 1 hard fried egg, 2 pieces of bacon and 1 hash brown- no beans. We were so taken back by the pitiful portion that we laughed. I think it would be a good idea to explain on the room service cards that by checking that you want an item of food, to put the quantity? I am still quite annoyed that we paid £16 room service charge on top of our already paid breakfast for that pitiful portion!
The food in the bar and restaurant was to die for. Incredibly quick service, it was tasty and worth the price. I will be dreaming of the potato and leek soup, and my partner enjoyed the beef burger twice!
Thank you for our lovely stay. I am nit-picky because we do not get the chance to holiday often- and despite the cons of our stay, it did not affect our love for this place.

Nice hotel and spa. However, it used to be in a much more rural setting with views across the hills. Now surrounded by new houses literally right up to the edge of the car park on 3 sides of the complex. Really spoiled the place and removed one of the main reasons to go there.

Lovely setting and well thought out complex but let down by dirty seating in the lounge near the lower seating area beyond the bar. Very good service with a smile

Lovely hotel, really quirky. Hotel staff were friendly, breakfast and bar staff were a bit slow but adequate.

Room was clean but some furniture was old/stained. Overall lovely stay though

What a hidden gem!
Lovely hotel
Great restaurant serving delicious food
Complimentary glass of wine is a nice welcoming touch
All staff welcoming and professional
Super comfy bed in a courtyard room
Pièce de résistance is the swimming pool/ spa complex, one of the best hotel swimming pools I’ve used in this country! Loved the infinity hydrothermal pool with an outside position/view.
I don’t have anything negative to say.
Highly recommend

I suspect the individual experience will depend heavily on the room allocation. We were allocated room 5 in the courtyard, a sort of faux stable block, & were slightly surprised to find the door open on arrival with a door marked "private". In fact our room was adjacent to the housekeeping store, so we got to enjoy the noise of coming & going, including late at night.

The room was bright & clean with a pair of good sized, comfortable single beds. Furnished with a kettle, hair dryer & iron. The TV had very poor reception & the WiFi came & went with a very low signal.

Unfortunately the room backed onto the outdoor seating area for the "pub", so was very noisy late into the night. It was impossible to close the windows to try to shut this out.

It also seemed to have a footpath leading to a staff area directly outside the window. So as with the housekeeping, there were many disturbances with foot traffic, exacerbated by a loose flagstone. We were awoken a 6 AM with high heels clattering past the window. We even got what was presumably a staff member leaving for the day on a motorbike, that was revved right outside the window.

These ground floor rooms also have another floor above, & we experienced odd flexing sounds from above. So with all this, sleep was interrupted both nights.

On the plus side, my guest enjoyed the spa facilities.

I can't comment on the food as we never ate there.

So as I said at the outset, the room you're allocated is critical.

I just need to say that Alisha, Connor, Sam and Ollie were working the bar behind reception and they have honestly been the best group I’ve had. They joined in and made sure that we enjoyed our stay there. They were more than just employees. They were honestly the best bartenders we could’ve had. Please thank them so much for their perfect service.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, I absolutely love this place as it doesn’t feel like a Hotel, it just feels like you’re at home

We stayed for a couple of nights. Bit off putting being within a housing estate. Advertised as being within a village with shops. Staff were pleasant and polite, food was excellent Whilst the room was clean, the bedding was a lot to be desired. Pillows were too big for the pillow cases and quilt could have been bigger. As for the shops, nothing was open. Whilst I appreciate the football was on, it was not pleasant trying to chill in your room whilst shouting and cheering was extremely loud along the corridor. As for the spa, this needs to be supervised more, bearing in mind someone was witnessed putting conditioner in her hair then proceeding to wash her hands in the hydro pool (this could block the filters ). Needs refurbished. Toilet didn’t flush correctly and had to be flushed several time. Tray stand at end of corridor was so dirty someone wrote clean me in the dirt

Nice hotel but the housing estate dampens the view from the Thermal Suite. Gym was good. Could be cleaner in the toilets. Tiles are a bit grubby but I understand it's hard to upkeep where there's so much water. Hairdryers are below par one didn't work at all, other didn't want to work. Changing room and dressing area definitely needs an upgrade. No straighteners or basic toiletries on the counter. Didn't think it was worth £30 each for the day pass. It was ok.

Rooms are nice, location is good, great service.
Took a fair while to check in though as only one person on the front desk at peak times which can be frustrating.

Very nice bar near the reception but the drop inn bar is dated, dark and old and needs a refurb. Didnt try the pool as we were going to this morning but the fire alarm went off at 7.15 and after evcuating our room with others we found it was a false alarm. There was no clear marshalling or strategy and we wondered if there was a real fire what would have happened. This left us peeved so we decided to leave as it was so early. I would say if the alarm goes off get out quick as no one would even check on you. Overall this ruined our stay
