Mixed feelings The young waiting staff were friendly, rooms were comfortable and clean. The spa staff were very helpful. The older serving staff were less obliging. The room rate was a little on the expensive side as decor needed updating including the corridors. The white wine served at dinner was on the warm side, and some more training/practice on cocktail making is needed.

Spa was absolutely perfect after a long day out on business x I really enjoyed the use of the spa facilities, the restaurants available on site offered a fantastic range of options and the onsite steak restaurant was superb. The prices were very good. The rooms are very dated, and the carpets are in need of a clean round by door. The cleaner missed all round the edges of the bathroom so when seated on the toilet you were presented with an array of hairs...

Lovely stay Staff and dinner was nice The breakfast is overpriced especially for someone who doesnt like full english. The plates were too small for my toasts. For £14.95 a hot tea really shouldn’t be charged.

A very pleasant and comfortable overnight stay. The surroundings were very relaxing, and the room was cosy and comfortable. Staff were all courteous and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal in the Courtyard restaurant.

Lovely and will stay again if travel to the area. Gorgeous old buildings. It was raining really heavily and not all area are covered. I got wet going from one area to another. If it hadn’t have been raining, that would have been fine.

Our 1st facial ESPA treatment at the Last Drop and won't be our last. We had a joint treatment room and our therapists Almas and Ria where professional. Informative and absolutely amazing. Our facial were perfect, relaxing and the products not only smelt beautiful, they were carefully selected to match our skin types and selected carefully for specific allergies.
We highly recommend Almas and Ria and this treatment.

I am a bit shocked at how run-down the rooms are considering the hotel space downstairs is immaculate.
I have now stayed in the hotel four times over the past three years (the most recent two visits were with my partner and the previous two were with my company).

My biggest bug-bear is the carpets throughout the hotel, most of the carpets in the hotel either need a VERY deep clean or they need replacing, I don’t usually get the “ICK” with anything but the carpets definitely give me the ick.

The bathrooms in atleast half of the hotel haven’t been replaced for atleast 20-years and are now looking very dated compared to their competitors.

If the investment was put into the hotel I could easily see it rising from a four star to five star hotel.

My other issue with the rooms is the severe lack of electrical sockets to plug anything in. Especially as the rooms aren’t air-conditioned and desk fans need to be used to cool down the rooms. The hotel should definitely invest in air-conditioning in all the bedrooms seeming the summers are only going to get hotter and hotter and desk fans are pretty rubbish at cooling down a boiling hot room.
Additionally the sockets at the side of the bed are at an annoying height and positions (the light switches and socket should be above one another, rather than side by side), because currently if you want to plug anything in, you have to move whatever you have on the bedside shelf to be able to plug something in (better thought about how people will actually use the room, helps in avoiding these mistake that annoy people).

It would also be nice if each room had a small fridge, to keep Milk and other things cool in, rather than sitting on a counter/table and going off after just a day because the room is so warm

Finally the layout of the car-park needs a serious looking at, if you own a long car (like a coupe) it’s really hard to get out of the parking spaces when the car-park is full. The front car-park ideally needs to be extended

Lovely atmosphere, I liked the little village area and spa, good choice for breakfast, staff were friendly. Took over an hour for a pizza. Pillows were hard, but that's a personal thing as a side sleeper.

Would stay again! Food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy. Room was really nice and clean. Spa pool was lovely and warm and rest of the spa was really nice Room service food was cold and expensive for what you got. Spa was very overcrowded.

Handy for business. It felt a bit soulless. Very annoying online ordering system for food which wouldn't work for me. Staff were very helpful taking my "Face to face" order in the end.

Brilliant hotel with everything a family could need. It has everything you need. We stopped over on our way up to Glasgow and immediately booked for our return journey. It’s amazing to be able to use the pool with our 3 year old at anytime and we were made to feel very welcome with our child and dog. The food and facilities were incredible. No negatives.

Very nice hotel, the village vibe is very cute. The carpets could be changed in the rooms but otherwise very nice.

Now in the middle of a housing estate which obscures the previous beautiful views. Rooms are a bit dated, but restaurant & spa are excellent

A quaint and stylish place with some very good views depending on which side you are. A fair amount of walking to and fro to find your room, but when you do, it's nicely done clean and pleasant. Not the hugest of bedrooms. As a wedding venue it's fabulous

Stayed for business. Didn't get a chance to use the spa facilities.
Room was okay, food was good. Bed and shower was terrible.
The shower was one of those fixed to the wall, non movable heads above the bath with a retro fitted shower panel. The only problem was that the panel didn't fit because of the bath grab handle meaning a flooded bathroom floor.
The bed was two twins with a thin joining mattress which resulted in a horrible divit in which you struggle to sleep in.
Breakfast was included and was half decent, although the black pudding felt undercooked.
Dinner the night before was surprisingly good with good service. Just a shame the drinks range wasn't bigger.

Nice to visit short term. Try the pub at the rear where you get a different menu, more traditional. The Steak and Ale pie recommended. Breakfast, could be better. You have to select off a list, so the staff have do a lot of running around. Would be better as a self service. Also, don't ask for a cappuccino, most places just have a self serve machine, here you have to pay extra and the staff run off and fetch.

Hotel, spa and service was excellent. Guests above were unruly from 2.15am to 4.30am. Would like to know where to seek help from in situations like this.

All inclusive package overnight stay to celebrate my partners birthday. Whether the package is value for money at £259 is questionable. The evening food menu and drinks between 6pm and 10pm are limited to specific conditions therefore check before you book. The hot breakfast options were great and the quality of food was worth the stay alone. The reception staff were great and one particular staff member Ania who was fantastic went above and beyond to resolve a very small issue we had. Will definitely be returning.
