Great staff but facilities fell short this time. I stayed in a different part of the hotel on this occasion and it didn't meet my expectation. The room was smaller than I've had in the past. As a frequent visitor to the hotel; it would be beneficial to have perks and extras or reward of some kind. I like coming back because of the leisure facilities but the hotel doesn't have a loyalty reward programme. I have asked the management and they said they don't offer rewards which is a shame.

Lovely hotel and just a shame that children are allowed to run up and down corridors at 12 midnight What stands out are the surroundings, the beautiful setting but, mostly, the staff. They are the best staff we have ever come across anywhere in the world. Cannot do enough for you. Special mention for Julie who looked after us so well on our first morning and also our cleaner Amelia who was a delight. Was not clear what time breakfast times were and so we did not get our cooked breakfast on the second morning. Even the chap behind reception said that he confused by them. Also, a young lady on reception did not know that Emerson also own Smithhills which is shown in the large picture behind the desk. Would have thought that was a fact that should have been mentioned during training.

Exceptional The Last Drop Hotel and Spa is a fabulous place to stop when staying in Bolton. I arrved to the hotel, managed to find a parking space in the hotel carpark (not the Spa / Pool / Gym) and parked up. Check in was easy, and the room was super comfortable and big !! I was able to spread my clothes for the next day out on the second bed - and relax for the evening in front of the TV. Breakfast was OK, a relatively standard UK hotel offer of a hot and cold buffet. Checkout was clean and easy - and I will stay there again when next needing to be in the North West. The only challenge is parking. The regular users of the Gym and Pool - park in the hotel carpark - because it is a shorter walk for them to the pool and Gym. If one is having to either carry bags in or out - it is a bit of a trek to the carpark when you have cases. Apart from this - there isn't anything negative to say.

Leisure Break Location was good and the room was good. Didn't really use the facilities I am disabled and I had to walk down a long corridor then up some steps and through another corridor before I got to my room on 1st floor.

Stayed for three nights over a weekend. Our room was in "The Courtyard". The room had enough space and very clean. It can get noisy even late at night. I room ask for a room in the main hotel if you are a light sleeper.
The SPA is a great addition but people were taking mobile phones into the area and no one was pointing out that it was not allowed.

I would like to stay again if the hotel could guarantee a bedroom which is not dog friendly. Good location. Good service from very friendly staff. Dogs are very welcome in the communal areas, even on the upholstered seating areas. The hotel is very proud of the fact that every bedroom is dog friendly and therefore the hotel is not suitable for someone allergic to dogs.

Surprisingly nice hotel. Didn't use the spa, so I can't comment, but the rooms were roomy and comfortable, and the breakfast was pretty decent.

Perfect way to break up a long journey The spa is lovely, first thing in the morning when it is super quiet. Breakfast was great. Our room had very harsh hospital style lighting, not terribly relaxing.

Used a base for visiting friends Lovely location Getting a bit over priced as we never use the spa. Our room was a bit dated, lack of tea, coffee facilities, our towels and bathroom house coats we paid extra for as a bit of luxury were well used so much so we didn’t use them, certainly not worth the extra £15. We didn’t have house keeping during our stay which I’d expect at £270 for 2 nights and an extra £70 for breakfast made it very expensive.
