I have just returned from a four day stay at this hotel.
Hotel very clean, beautiful location and delicious food.
Franco the restaurant manager is a delight. Very attentive, efficient and always happy to check we were ok. The restaurant staff were mainly young and coped well with busy meal times. The lady supervisor who worked in the breakfast room on the morning of 11th Sept was under a lot of stress getting breakfast for 60 people about to depart the hotel. She remained really calm and kept a smile on her face. She is definitely an asset to the hotel.
My only complaint was the price of the drinks. £28.45 for a bottle of wine seems extremely expensive. We would of gone out a lot more to the delightful little pub on site if the drinks were slightly cheaper.
All in all I would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel.

We have stayed at the Last Drop about 20 times in the last couple of years because it is in a convenient location when visiting family. Our latest stay was on a Sunday evening.
Due to the 'village' theme the design of the bedrooms varies considerably in terms of size, furnishing and bathrooms. Sometimes we have been lucky and been allocated a large room with comfortable seating within the main building but on this occasion we were in a courtyard room on the second floor which involved walking a short way outside in the rain (not a problem). We've been in these rooms before and they are on the small side but are perfectly adequate for one or two nights and they have the big advantage of a walk in shower rather than having to step over the side of a bath. As usual the bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Previously when we have stayed we have dinner in the Courtyard restaurant which offered a varied menu and reasonable prices, we've generally had a very good experience - good food, great service and a reasonable wine menu. This time we booked DB&B as usual and were advised that this gave us an allowance of £30 each towards dinner.
When we arrived at the restaurant we found that the name of the restaurant had changed to the Clocktower (even though all the signage still says Courtyard) and the menu has changed drastically. It now largely only offers steaks at eye wateringly high prices (fillet for £48, rib eye £38 etc. and £4 for a sauce) which are about £15 more than I would normally expect to pay. Apart from steaks there were only 4 other options - lobster thermidor (£39), tuna steak, chicken breast and cannelloni.
Faced with such a pathetically small choice we both opted to for rib eye steaks with peppercorn sauce. One of the steaks was good quality (as you would expect at this price) and cooked medium rare as requested but the other one wasn't as good and was difficult to cut through. They came with fries and a pile of vine tomatoes (I've no idea who came up with the idea that these ever go with steak even if they look nice).
For only 2 meals and a bottle of wine I ended up paying the ridiculous sum of £114 in total and one didn't even enjoy their food - ridiculous.
Breakfast was great, cooked to order and of a high quality (especially the bacon).
Service throughout the hotel was to the same high standard as it has always been with helpful and friendly staff.
We'll stop here again but there is no way I will have an evening meal due to extortionate cost and the lack of choice.

Our check-in experience was excellent — the staff were attentive and ensured our dinner and breakfast reservations were confirmed, along with verifying our spa booking. This level of organisation was much appreciated and set a positive tone for our stay.

The bar, however, was quite busy and appeared slightly understaffed. Despite there being no one else waiting apart from my partner and me, service was slow and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed or disorganised.

Dinner in the evening was enjoyable overall, though the presentation could be elevated — the steak was good, but it was served with a rather underwhelming pile of chips. A more refined accompaniment would have enhanced the dining experience. That said, the atmosphere and staff were both lovely.

The spa and pool facilities were excellent and exactly what we were hoping for as we were celebrating a promotion. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable, though we found the TV to be quite small for the size of the room, and the lighting somewhat limited — but this comes down to personal preference.

Unfortunately, breakfast and check-out slightly diminished our overall impression. While we understand it was a busy morning and that a wedding was taking place (which, to your credit, was managed discreetly), the breakfast portion was surprisingly small with just two pieces of bacon, a single hash brown, and mushrooms that did not appear to be pan-fried. Service at breakfast was lacking, with no staff checking in to ask if everything was satisfactory. There was also a long queue for toast, and limited space around the fruit and drinks area, which created some unnecessary congestion.

Lastly, our check-out experience was impersonal. Unlike the warm welcome at check-in, the receptionist did not make eye contact or inquire about our stay. They simply took the keys and wished us a good day.

While the overall experience was not bad, particularly thanks to the spa and the friendly staff we encountered during check-in and dinner. The service inconsistencies and lack of attention to detail during peak times would make us hesitant to return.

It was good but nothing special The location was lovely. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good The bedroom could have been cleaner, cobwebs in the bathroom. For a 4 star hotel I would have liked a mini fridge for milk in the room. Only had 4 milk cartons which was one cup of tea each. The bar area had food on the floor. The staff were great at wiping the tables but not cleaning up food if on the floor. We pre-ordered two taxis via the hotel reception and were let down by the taxi company both going and coming back. Only one taxi turned up. Not ideal as we had children with us. Maybe the hotel should consider using a different taxi company

Clean, comfortable, and easy to check in/out. Perfect location and plenty of parking. The room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space and the super king bed was amazing. Being close to the spa meant a lot of foot traffic outside the room. It was a little noisier compared to my previous stay.

We stayed here while attending a wedding at Harwood Golf Club, which is nearby. I can’t say that I loved how our cottage executive room looked but it might just be not to my taste and it was cosy, well equipped and clean and the bed was very comfy and the shower was nice and strong. I didn’t have time to take a photo while the bed was neat so that looked better than our photo when we arrived.

The dressing gowns had seen better days and were a bit stiff with some threads hanging off. There weren’t any slippers provided. So it’s good to remember something to go to the spa in.

I don’t know if we were unlucky with the people staying above but we could hear them walking around above almost all night. We couldn’t however hear voices luckily.

Check in and check out were at good times and although we were out the afternoon and night before we had time to visit the swimming pool and thermal area before we checked out. This was a lovely facility to have. It’s not the prettiest or most well equipped but still a nice one with a good amount of thermal experiences.

There are also family changing rooms which is great.

I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat while we were there.

The appearance of the communal areas and building exteriors are lovely.

The staff we spoke to were very nice and we were asked how our stay was at check out.

We would definitely stay here again given the price and the spa facilities, that we didn’t explore everything and that it is close to home.

The room. Breakfast but most of all the building character. The walk round and little gift shop was lovely to look at. Only 1 thing we could not get the radiator working at night. The room was cold. But did not complain has hotel was perfect for us.

Very nice bathroom, wonderful grounds, helpful staff Shower water came around the door onto floor. Maybe a smaller shower head needed or a sliding door to protect floor from overspill

Most of the staff were helpful. Loved the village setting with the pub and shops in the courtyard. Comfortable and a good temperature. We were let down on 2 occasions at breakfast which was disappointing especially considering the cost.

We had our wedding here last week in the Harmony Suite. Everything surpassed our expectations. Jacqueline the wedding planner was just amazing. From communication throughout the planning to keeping in touch throughout our stay and on the day. The service, the staff, the food, the set up....just fabulous. Thank you so much to Jacqueline and team for our perfect day xx

We have been here on a number of occasions over the years, going back to the 1990's usually just for a Birthday overnight spa stay as we have just recently done.
We will not be doing it again. My wife booked it on a wowcher deal. Unfortunately on the small print we were down to eat in The Last Drop pub. The menu is not the most appealing to say the least. We had to complain about the terrine starter as the sourdough bread toast was teeth breaking. We sat down to eat prior to 7.30pm. Whilst many people at that time were having their evening meal, the pub thought it would be a good idea to do a pub quiz at that time which lasted the entire length of our evening in there. We requested a room in the courtyard when booking but on arrival we didn't have one. Apparently, hotel was full. After a bit of a discussion with my wife, a courtyard room was suddenly found. The carpets look old. and similarly the room just looks tired. You have to book a slot at the spa area. The infinity pool was very busy (possibly overbooked) and although the main sauna was nice and hot we had problems with the heat in the steam rooms and second sauna. Please be aware that you need a pound coin to use the lockers in the changing room. The spa reception had no tokens so I was given a key and padlock for mine and my wife had to get changed in her changing room then meet me at the poolside so I could put her belongings in my locker. There were other issues also which I haven't mentioned. On a positive - the breakfast (which you order) was very good and service was quick.
In my opinion the Last Drop still lives on it's perceived upmarket status from the 1990's / early 2000's and their prices tend to reflect this.

From checking in with Caitlin who was very knowledgeable and helpful even with a queue behind us to checking out I don’t have a bad word to say.
We stayed for our wedding anniversary ( room 80 ) which was amazing. The room was so big and inviting. We only wish we had booked 3 nights.
Olivia in the pub was a lovely way to start our overnight journey.
2 guys in the main bar Jake and Joe I think their names were just magic.
Star of the show for us both was Sue who was running the restaurant both at evening meal and morning after at breakfast, she got everything bang on as did chef with the most exquisite food served.
We didn’t use the spa but it looked beautiful.
We will be returning for definite
