Enjoyed though would not choose to have the breakfast next time Having access to the spa. Breakfast - very poor - sausage and black pudding just cooked - pale and unappetizing, bacon dry and over cooked, tomato hard and raw. Waited a long time for it to come.

Nice place, a small cozy village. We stayed there for business , we found it very comfortable.
We liked the cottages , the spa and the shops a lot.

The attraction of the village and spa was initially appealing. The weekend must've been busy as the room we were given was in the back of beyond up many flights of stairs. The room, however, was very comfortable but because of the distance it made using the facilities difficult. There was no option to mention mobility issues when booking. So it it meant that once I was in the room, that was it. It was just a little dated. The bed was comfortable, and the halls were quiet. The bathroom was disproportionately large. With the toilet paper on the other side of the room. Many many sets of steps and long corridors. With no option to request a accessible room when booking. I felt trapped then till the following day

A welcome relaxing break with swim and spa on our walking holiday through Lancashire. We arrived on foot as part of a walking holiday in Lancashire. First impressions of welcoming staff- from reception, spa and pool attendants, dining room and table service each excellent. Liked the ambiance of the hotel, gardens and layout. Peaceful and relaxing. Choice of dining rooms. Beautifully presented food. Pool needs to be booked at popular times- luxurious and totally relaxing.
Such a good experience we returned for another night 2 days later.
We felt a limited choice of vegetarian meals. I had 3 starters as my main course. Good value.

Everything was perfect as when I took my friend a couple years ago .so wanted to take my partner there for our 1 year anniversary. Only thing is staying in room 37 the white door infrount of our door. Banged every second and I got woken up at 7am as for a little breakaway I was not happy that I was awake at that time of the morning. The breakfast has also changed since last time I was there it use to be a all u can eat buffet now . The waiter comes over to you and asked what u would like u get 1 of everything dont really think it sets u up for the rest of the day but did taste amazing but definitely not worth the price.

This is a large hotel. Unsurprisingly, on the Saturday I stayed there was a wedding, which made everything busy and quite noisy. I was put in a room that was uncomfortably hot, possibly because it was over the laundry room. I told the hotel that despite my staying two nights my room was not made up during this time. The restaurant is well run and serves good food.

It is a beautiful place i was recently there for my 1 year anniversary and it was stunning. Bed was comfy everything was perfect.
Only thing I would say is breakfast has changed from the last time I went and for 18 pound I dont think is very worth it for what you get. And you also get woken up at 7am with doors banging with people going in and out which isn't nice when u go for a nice and relaxing, peaceful night away.
