Most reception staff excellent and very accomodating.
When asking for late check out the woman on reception Sharon I think explained that it could not be possible due to being fully booked. However I was able to visit the booking website and still book the same room on the morning of checking out. I don't think she checked in the first place ? Or maybe hotel policy either way was a lie and put a downer on would have otherwise been a fantastic visit.

Problems to be ironed out
The hotel was clean, comfortable. Most of the staff helpful and caring.
The younger members of staff on the bar needed more training on the drinks they sold and the customers expectations of service and preferences eg drinks bottled, canned or from the pumps rather than assuming their needs. The restaurant was not monitored sufficiently at certain times during the evening. Staff came and went. Breakfast from the hot plates was getting cold. Dishes served were late, did not arrive and or luke warm. Customers waited for service.

The room was really nice the staff were so friendly and helpful being in the centre of town everything was walking distance
To be honest the drinks were a bit pricey but has a one off it was OK double brandy and coke and double gin and tonic £22.50 that's hotels for you

I wasn't using Holiday Inn as a place to stay but was joining friends in a Christmas 'gathering' run by Holiday Inn. It didn't hit the mark. The DJ competed with the England match and the room and the food was cold. Such a shame. Place was beautifully decorated. The staff worked hard and were pleasant and helpful.

Staff could be a bit more considerate. Setting up a meal string a conference can't be easy, but they could really do with investing in a doorstop. The constant slamming of the door was very distracting during presentations. Not expected for such a lovely venue.

Welcoming staff not just at check in but all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Room was newly refurbished and very nice. Bathroom very modern loved the shower although the bathroom is quite small. Breakfast was plentiful lots of choices. Great stay!

Great staff. The rooms are updated. Hallway sounds t night can be heard in the room. The new shower on off did not work properly - it was okay.
