The location is very nice. Though the size of the car park might be giving things away. There were so many people in the pool that a swim was impossible. We just sat in it. All lounge beds had either people or towels on them so can’t use those. The saunas were ok but again too many people. Seems like a mix of people coming to use the gym and customers.
The restaurant serves really mediocre food. We had chicken wings which tasted like they’ve been cooked a few days ago, very poor. Chips as a side are £5! Cocktails are £10, beer is £6. Staff seem relatively nice. The room had a broken shower rail, the windows are wooden and on a windy night it was noisy as hell as they were rattling.
The Spa experience was nice. I really enjoyed my scrub and the Mrs had the facial.

My first visit and definitely NOT my last.
On arrival we was greeted with a smile and first class service. Admittedly had a few problems with my room and Julia on reception Went above and beyond to help.

Amazing place to stay. From the start very professional, friendly and knowledgeable reception staff. Special shout out to Julia who went above and beyond to make sure my stay was great. Thank you for such a pleasant hospitality. Highly recommended.

A beautiful hotel with lovely gardens to wander round. The outside area were well maintained. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I could not fault the hotel. The meal times were very busy, so took a long time between courses. The hotel had spa facilities. A large car park. I would like to visit the hotel again. I can only say we were very well looked after by the staff and our luggage was taken to our room, when we arrived and collected again, when we departed.

We stayed at Dunkenhalgh for few nights with the coach party. Lovely old building, well maintained. Professional staff and amazing food . We enjoyed our stay ,a special thanks to Sam duty manager,who always have genuine smile and willing to help guests , who fixed our TV , had a good chat with him about cricket .

The waiting staff were exceptional and very helpful - special thanks to Mia I and Wanlu. The cases took sometime to arrive but did eventually - the lift wasn't in operation as it needed repairing. The room had a strange smell but was rectified and the room cleaned each day. The bathroom was large and clean.

We had a lovely stay at the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa. Our room was clean, tidy and well looked after.
A special mention goes to the gentleman (from Tunisia) who worked at breakfast every morning. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, a true host! His warm and helpful attitude really made a difference to our mornings.
And a very special thank you to Lilly. What an absolute asset to the hotel! She was so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and really made our stay even more enjoyable.
We didn’t use the spa during our stay, so unfortunately we can’t comment on that.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would like to thank the staff for their wonderful hospitality!

This hotel is in such a lovely location and has great atmosphere. Our room had a nice little view of the garden and fields where the cows roamed. The staff were very lovely, friendly and accommodating. It seemed they couldn’t do enough and always on hand to help. The food was fabulous and so were our serving staff, especially Courtney, Carla and Tilly, who always greeted us with a smile and looked after us.
We were there for a ghost weekend and were not disappointed.
The spa was a nice addition but the ambiance in there wasn’t quite as expected. We did have time for a swim and jacuzzi but with a mixture of children splashing around and lane swimmers it didn’t quite hit the ‘spa’ experience, not that we were there for the spa, but I don’t think we’d go for a spa day for that reason. Each to their own of course. On the whole a great experience was enjoyed by us all!

Had a lovely weekend here with the ghostly getaways group, Sean the head chef is a master, the food I had was delicious and delightfully presented, the rooms are clean and well organised infact everywhere is clean, the spa facilities is equally clean, every single member of staff is approachable and polite, Mia your a star thank you, 😊

We had our wedding here on Saturday, it was the most beautiful day. Jacqueline helped us plan it for months and she was exceptional from start to finish, with so much attention to detail and taking the stress out of our hands. The room looked absolutely stunning and all guests commented how amazing the day was. Jacqueline and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, she greeted us as we arrived and was on hand to help with anything we needed. Would highly recommend. Thanks everyone at Dunkenhalgh :)

A lovely hotel with good facilities, excellent food and staff. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. The hotel was well located for trips out. We were with a coach party and the overall trip was good value.
The Chef Sean and the waiting staff were amazing. Those we noted were Mia Rose, Mia I, Carla, Kim, Wanla, Beyer and Eden.

44 slightly older travellers, were on a coach trip to the Pennines & dales & stayed for four days at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the staff were exemplary. Our bags were delivered to our rooms by cheerful young men & collected at the end of our stay! Every one was pleased with their rooms & the standard of cleanliness, although some had a long walk to them!
All our meals were good thanks to Sean, the chef, with attentive, cheerful staff who made sure we were well looked after. Special thanks to Mia Rose, Carla, Kim, Wanla, Beyel, Mia I, Eden & Tina for whom nothing was too much trouble!
