For anyone thinking of booking their wedding here, DO IT!
We had our wedding reception here and honestly don't have one complaint.
Every single member of staff were attentive from the moment I arrived the day before, until we left 2 days later. We were made to feel really special, attended to and checked in with throughout. They really did go the extra mile with nothing too much trouble.
A special mention to our wedding coordinator, Jacqueline who went through the details with a fine tooth comb, as often as we needed.. no wonder it all ran so smoothly! She has been incredible throughout!

We got married at the dunkenhalgh on the 28th of August 2026 in the townley suite.

We had Jaqueline as our wedding coordinator and she was amazing. Nothing was ever too much. From booking to the wedding day was smooth. She even rocked my 11 month old whilst I was getting married. She made sure everything ran smoothly and was checking in with me whilst getting ready to see if I needed anything. Nothing was ever too much to ask.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere was really welcoming. Our bridal suite was clean.

In a whole we had a beautiful day, but a big thank you to Jaqueline who made everything run smoothly and made sure we was happy and confident with the wedding venue we had chosen.

Beautiful Hotel. Nice clean room. We were here for 3 nights to celebrate our Diamond Wedding Anniversary. What a let-down ! When my husband booked he said that I was highly allergic to garlic and could they cope with that. The answer was "Of course, no problem". The menu looked really interesting. Unfortunately ALL their dishes contained garlic but they assured me they would create something without garlic. Well, the first night was ok - I had trout, boiled potatoes & green veg, not exactly gourmet. The second night (our actual anniversary) was a disaster. We had to wait an hour and a half to be served. I ordered a piece of grilled chicken and twice-cooked chips with veg. What arrived was a chicken fillet which was hard and leathery and skinny chips. Totally inedible. The waiter, Stuart, offered to provide a better meal of my choosing the following day "on the house". That was just a repeat of the meal I had on the first evening as everything else had garlic in it. Not exactly "of my choosing". This hotel was, to say the least, very disappointing and totally ruined a very special occasion. If you have any sort of allergy, don't stay here - they just can't cope.

I had a fantastic time when I went for my evening meal. The food was incredible and the customer service even better. My waitress Courtney went above and beyond.

The hotel itself is very pleasant but no 'grounds' to walk about.
The evening service in the restaurant was absolutely appalling. Sit down time was 7pm they were serving the 1st course at 7:55pm, by 9pm there was no sign of the 3rd course so I 'gave up the ghost ' and left. I wouldn't go back.

We stayed one night, dinner bed and breakfast. Overall it was great value for money, the food was great quality and it was ok pricing. Depending what you choose.
The room was lovely, with complimentary drinks and clean.
Breakfast was nice with a lot to choose.

We also used the spa and pool facilities, the pool is also open to the public which I felt was the only “downfall”, we received a spa day for our wedding gift, I think we were hoping for it a little more private, the spa was lovely and separated. Alisha completed my treatments, she was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. She swapped things around to do my facial too which was lovely.
The afternoon tea was nice, little basic but fresh and pleasant.

Enjoyed our stay, room was lovely and clean with a great sized TV. Bathroom was slightly dated but clean all the same. We had dinner from the bar menu, the food was average, quite a wait for the starter but didn't mind too much. Heard others complaining though. Breakfast was great. Spa facilities were good, enjoyed a massage and facial from Alisha who was really amazing. Alisha was really knowledgeable about the treatment itself, explained everything well and made me feel really comfortable. Alisha also recommended products after the massage, knew loads about them, took the time to listen to what I was looking for and made recommendations explain why the product would suit me. There was also a really good deal on and i managed to get a lot of products for a really good price was very happy.

Mark was a true gentleman. Gave the history of the building as that is our thing. Was a great story and got taken behind the scenes to see a couple old paintings which was super interesting 😊

After a very kind drive from Bournemouth, tired and hot there was a mistake with the booking. But no problem Julia from front of house was absolutely superb. Nothing was a problem and her calm and professional manner made me feel at ease. She was amazing

Easily accessible, just off the motorway. Little road noise on the grounds but okay in the room.
Amosphere in the restaurant was nice - Courtney* was our waitress & she was lovely!! The chocolate truffles are hugh & so tatsy.. Only criticism is they dont give you both menus unless asked, we was only given the premium dining menu, after ordering we noticed & overheard there are 2 menus to choose from.
Room was okay, bathroom could benefit from some TLC/update.
Overall cleanliness was okay, just abit dated in areas.
Didn't get chance to use all the facilities. There was quite alot of children in the pool which didn't really go in keep with the relaxing spa day vibe. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet breakfast, we went around 9.20am (served until 10am) everything was cold & quality was so so.. undercooked bacon, overcooked eggs ans hash browns. Really disappointing end to our stay. The package we booked was £270 for one night i don't think its worth the asking price based on my experience

Stayed here a few years ago, that was not good, so have stayed elsewhere since, but up visiting family again at the weekend just gone so thought we would try it again. Room was lovely, very clean, and was great being on the ground floor but the curtains let a lot of light in so sleep was disturbed way to early. Hopefully that can be sorted because we will hopefully be staying again soon.

Two rooms booked for myself & husband and MIL. Requested ground floor because the lift is out of order. Trip got off to a bad start when we got caught on the M6 traffic problems for 6 hours, so we were a bit unhappy when we were checking it at 22.40, however, the night receptionist was a lovely man and he processed everything very quickly. We were allocated two ground floor rooms in the courtyard, 40 and 41. The hotel is very lovely to look at and the courtyard is pretty with a fountain and twinkling lights. The rooms were very clean and look like the have been freshly painted. There is loads of storage. The bathroom in room 40 is a bit tight getting in and out of the shower which is over the bath. My bedside light didn't work, the switch is broken. I did tell reception. However both rooms were hotter than the surface of the sun, so at midnight I was back at reception asking for a fan, which he brought over promptly. It would be unbearable to have been in the room during the recent heatwaves. It seems as if the plumbing pipes are routed through the boxings on the walls, they are hot to the touch, as was the window shelving in the bathroom of room 40. We could hear all the water flowing through the pipes, and it woke us up on the Saturday morning as we thought there was water leaking onto the floor. The radiator was not on, but we kept checking as we just couldn't work out where the heat was coming from. The windows in these rooms are both on security wires so can only be opened a little bit. Once dressed, we kept the front door opened! Anyway, heat aside, the breakfast (only meal we ate there) on both days was very good. Full help yourself buffet plus various egg dishes made to order. The decor is lovely in the restaurant and bar area, and outside is very nice. Plenty of parking even with other events on (a family day on the Saturday). The hotel was convenient for a party we were attending in Accrington.
All the staff we met were helpful and pleasant, especially the guy on night desk duty and the housekeeping staff.

Hosted an event here which must have given this place a decent return and some aspects of what they did worked well logistically.

But 1st impressions last and the appalling (inexperienced) bar staff on arrival need to find a career that does not involve having to smile or deal with the public or take some initiative.

The place is also screaming out for some TLC.

Lovely server Mia I. Such a lovely restaurant friendly staff and the food was to die for. I had the scallops to start and chicken supreme for main and it was wonderful.
Lovely meal to start off a business weekend.
