It’s quite a week for Barrow, with the Tour of Britain heading to town on Friday, cycling is on everyone’s minds at the moment.
Well Apollo Bingo Barrow have a brilliant fundraiser taking place on Friday night that ties in perfectly with the excitement and anticipation that The Tour of Britain brings.
On the evening of Friday 7th September , Apollo Bingo will be hosting To the Moon and Back – a sponsored bike ride, raising money for the children’s charity – Variety.
Variety improves the lives of children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged. They provide coaches, and bespoke wheelchairs, specialist, sensory and recreational equipment for use in the home, schools, children’s hospitals and youth centres.
The charity also helps create memorable experiences through ‘Variety Great Days Out’
Every year Variety takes tens of thousands of children on day trips to the seaside, the zoo, theme parks, the circus, pantomimes and more. The fun and fascination on the kid’s faces is plain to see, and although their trips may only be for a day – the memories will last a lifetime!
All Majestic Bingo clubs will be taking part in this sponsored bike ride To the Moon and Back, with each club aiming to cycle 480 miles and raise £300 each.
Sponsor forms are currently in the club and the fab team at Apollo Bingo would love you to pop in, pick one up and get involved or sponsor someone else a few pounds, and help raise some money for a very worthwhile cause. Plus you’ll also get the chance to have a chuckle at Apollo’s very own Gareth and Jason pedalling away (Wiggins and Froome have nothing on these lads!) Sounds like a win- win situation to us!
