What inspires you to tackle climate change and protect nature?

That’s the question posed by the National campaign Great Big Green Week. It’s a national celebration of community action to educate people about our environment and local wildlife and how to help protect it for future generations.

The week will see everything from litter picks to letter writing and seaweed foraging to school assemblies.

As part of the weeklong campaign, there will be a Big Green Day at Ford Park on Sunday 11th June 10am – 2pm

Ford Park has teamed up with the Co-Op in Ulverston to bring you a fab free Big Green Day as part of The Great Big Green Week, with fun activities for children taking place in the Williams Room. Roof Terrace and Garden.

Come along to this fantastic free event where you can take part in:

  • Free nature themed crafts,
  • Make a bug hotel and wildflower seed bombs.
  • Design your own cartoon creature with Kate Brunskill.
  • Complete the veggie soup trail by finding all the ingredients in the garden and get a prize!
  • Find out information and advice on sustainability and eco living.

There will be free refreshments from the Co-Op.

This event is funded by the Westmorland and Furness Council and is part of the Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership’s ambitious emission reduction program to make Cumbria carbon neutral by 2037.
