Halloween is fast approaching, so you'll be looking for frighteningly good events to sink your teeth into!

There's plenty of spooky goings on across Barrow and Furness this year, so take a look at what's happening and have a bloodcurdling great Halloween ghouls and boys!


Halloween Party at Walney Community Centre

Paul's Puppet's annual Halloween party is back after 2 years! Come and join in if you dare for lots of Halloween fun and games, and don’t forget to dress up, as there will be a prize for best dressed boy and ghoul

Come and join Paul's Puppets for scary puppets and magic, fun and games, prizes for the best dressed boy and ghoul, duck apple and gory games and a special visitor.  Refreshments will be on sale


Walney Open Morning Halloween Special

Join Family Action for this Half Term Halloween Special.

Something for the youth. Have the upstairs to yourself, get to know the team, play games for prizes.

Furness Scarecrow Avenue/Street

A new annual event for Barrow - following on from last year's success - Furness Scarecrow Avenue is back!

Furness Youthwork Partnership presents: Scarecrow Avenue 2021

The format will be the same as last year's amazing event.

People create their scarecrows and have them on display between the 29th & 31st October. (Although some had them up for weeks beforehand)

FYP will also run some competitions (looking for business’s to sponsor the prizes)

Please note, ALL TICKETS MUST BE PRE-BOOKED, where you will be allocated a one or two hour time slot. 

Some details below, subject to change, dependent on government guidance. 

- Your timed ticket will admit your family for a one-hour or two-hour visit, with unlimited train rides, during your time slot. 

- To control visitor numbers, all people must book a ticket (children's tickets are valid up to 14 years old. Babies under 12 months don't require a ticket). 

- There will be different trains running continuously for you to enjoy, allowing you multiple rides during your visit. 

- To maintain social distancing, and reduce queuing, you will board the next available train. 

- The number of visitors & their cars will be limited as parking will be strictly controlled, as will arrival and departure times for guests 

- After parking you will be invited for your first ride, with social distancing in place

- Trains will depart the usual end of the Platform & will unload at the end of your ride at the House platform only. You will then return to the station for additional rides, via a pedestrian area 

- Sanitizing stations will be available 

- Due to time limitations & social distancing, the lawn will be available to view the engines and enjoy a drink or ice-cream, but your own PICKNICKING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. You will want to spend your time riding anyway! 

- Hot & cold drinks, cakes & ice cream will be available as usual.

Free Creepy Crafts Event at 20 Duke Street, Barrow Market Hall (next door to The Mobile Man) from 11am till 3pm. Spooky Wreath and Face Mask making - Halloween fun for all the family to enjoy.

Spooky fun as Dalton Cricket Club will be hosting their annual kids Halloween party

They will be joined by little beasties, they will have a disco and party games with prizes, including best boy and best girl fancy dress and also best grown up fancy dress. 

There will be hotdogs and chips available to buy and also the bar will be open for the adults.

Following on from the success of last year's fantastic event, Marsh House will be repeating their Halloween Garden as they join in with the Local Furness Scarecrow Street.
