Saturday 20th – Wednesday 31st October - Pumpkin Trail at Ford Park

There's spooky goings-on at Ford Park this October, with their popular Pumpkin Trail!

To join the fun, simply purchase your trail sheet at the cafe (£2) before heading out into the park to find the hidden spooky pumpkins - keep your eyes peeled! 
Once you've completed the trail, don't forget to return to the cafe to collect your Halloween prize!

A week of Witches, Wizards, Ghosts and Ghouls at Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway.

A week of Witches, Wizards, Ghosts and Ghouls at Haverthwaite and the Lakes Aquarium.

Can you spot the haunted carriage? It’s been trapped forever in Haverthwaite tunnel, let’s hope you don’t get stuck there too!!!

Complete the ‘Ghoul Trail’ and ride to Lakeside for more spooky fun at the Aquarium.

(Please note: FREE train ride and entry into the Lakes Aquarium for kids in fancy dress! Must be travelling with a full paying adult.)


Tuesday 23rd – Sunday 28th October - Halloween week at Muncaster Castle

Dare you visit one of Britain’s most haunted castles this Halloween?! Join Muncaster Castle for their biggest event of the year!

Lineup for 2018 is still to be confirmed but we are anticipating:
The Muncaster Monster Cabaret with continuous entertainment right through from noon until late.
The Scary Maze (not recommended for under 12s particularly in the evenings) – the Meadowvole Maze is transformed into a dark and scary otherworld for Halloween. 
The Cannon ‘firing’ at 6pm on the Cannon Bank with Foppletwig the Genie-hunter.
The Ghostly Grotto with spooky crafts, face-painting, story-telling and more.
The Halloween Castle Tour, scripted new again for 2018.
Twilight Owls display nightly at 7pm.

Wednesday 24th October - Spooky Craft Workshops

Make spooky spider webs in time for Halloween with Karen Hall at The Dock Museum.

This pop-in workshop will run from 11am with the final admission time being 3pm, to allow time to create your masterpiece. 

Tickets cost £2 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Tickets are available on the day.


Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th October - Grange Over Sands Pumpkin Walk

The annual Grange Pumpkin walk takes place between October 24th - October 25th- come and spot the pumpkins!

All you need is warm clothing and a torch.

Experience a walk in Grange at night lit by pumpkins carved by local people, young and old!


New Venue this year, the Pumpkin walk will be held in Park Road Gardens, The bandstand

Witches and Wizardry School of Excellence – Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October, 10am-11.30am, 12noon-1.30pm and 2.30pm-4pm.

Witches and Wizardry School is a fully immersive theatre event where children are taken on a mystical journey with witches and wizards.  They will enter the magical school learning how to make spells and potions with Professor Trelawney, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger.  £12 per child, which includes one adult, additional adults £5.  Pre-booking essential. 

Creepy Crafts – Thursday 25th and Sunday 28th October. 10.30am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

Hands-on Halloween craft activity drop-in sessions.  £4 per child. No need to pre-book.

Self Guided Garden Trail – Thursday 25th – Sunday 28th October.

Tour the gardens at your own leisure with a Halloween trail sheet.  Sheets cost £1.  Garden admission is charged for adults at £8.50, children free.

Thursday 25th October - Spooky Animal Handling Workshops

Come along to The Dock Museum for an animal handling workshop with a spooky difference!

Wetheriggs Animal Rescue will be visiting The Dock Museum on Thursday 25th October with a selection of creepy animals for brave visitors to handle. 

Session times are:

10.30 - 11.00, 11.15 - 11.45, 12.00 - 12.30, 1.00 -1.30, 1.45 -2.15, 2.30 - 3.00 and 3.15 - 3.45

£2 per ticket

Children 8 years and under must be accompanied by an adult


Friday 26th October - Prevent Breast Cancer & Shine Theatre present A ‘Goulish’ Tea Party.

Half term Halloween fun at The Forum on October 26th.

A ‘spook-tacular’ afternoon of fiendish games, food, prizes, fancy dress and eerie entertainment!

Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October - Ghost Trains at Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

Back with more spooky tricks than ever in 2018.

Are you feeling brave? Travel the line in darkness and brave the Ghost Train! 
Your ticket includes a return train trip (ghost train is one way only), family-friendly activities at Dalegarth Station, sweet bag on departure and of course lots of scares and spooks on the way back to Ravenglass.

Millerbeck Light Railway will be open for Halloween for their Spooky Fun Days!

The ever popular Candlelit walk at Ford Park returns on Wednesday 31st October.

Join them for an enchanting night of spooky sights and squawks as the annual Halloween stroll through the candlelit woods takes on a BIRD theme for 2018.
