Small businesses are the life blood of the economy, which is why it's so wonderful to see great local businesses doing well.
This weekend Geek Goods in Ulverston celebrates 3 years of trading. 3 years of giving fans of film, tv shows and anime a place to embrace their inner geek and get their fill of merchandise of official merchandise, so whether you’re a huge Harry Potter, Walking Dead, Doctor Who, Marvel or DC fan (to name but a few) then this is the place for you.
Established back in 2015 by owner Karen Wilkinson, Geek Goods has become a haven for like - minded people to not only shop, but to talk about their favourite shows, as well as upcoming series and movies too.
The story of how Geek Goods came to be, is an interesting one.
Karen originally ran a tutu and accessory business, but after realising that she had nothing to sell that would interest boys in her pop up shop, she decided to start selling a small selection of official wristbands and keyrings which proved extremely popular and started to sell very quickly. After attending a Comic Con event and realising the huge appetite that people had for these sort of items, it was clear that she would need to increase the range of products on offer and move to permanent premises – Geek Goods was officially born!
This Saturday (27th October) between 1pm - 4pm Geek Goods will be holding a special event to mark their 3rd year in business. Expect Cosplay, discounts on certain items in store for those who dress up, a tombola, lucky dip box and a tombola. Oh, and there'll be cake too!
Drop in and geek out!!
Happy 3rd Birthday Geek Goods from thebestof team.
