We were on a camper holiday in the area and phoned for a table on 20 minutes notice.
Had a nice table in the pub area. Lovely rustic decor and a great 'feel good' locals pub. The waitress, maybe land lady!? was very friendly. Great drinks and food choice. Took our orders quickly. Played one of the board games on offer while we waited. Myself and husband had pies, wow! Pastry was delicious and lots of filling! My 4 year old snaffled his dinner too.
My only tiny improvement would be to invest in comfier chairs, but it would not stop us visiting again. Love the 2p bar!

What a pub, didn't stay this time as we were camping at Black Beck Caravan Site.... but great selection of beers, people who ate there tabbed about the food and the last time I stayed I loved it.

We visited as a family for tea. We all ordered different meals and it was all very nice. Steak and guineas pie, curry and fish and chips. Topped off with ice cream. Really lovely.

My daughter booked a table for my birthday 🎂, staying at a local spa/ hotel. I was quite apprehensive as I'm quite a fussy eater. Well, what can I say, felt very welcome, such a warm and welcoming country pub with so much history. The food was amazing. I ordered the steak, rare/medium, absolute perfection 👌. The owners Jess and chef John, what a great couple, making the most and hopefully doing very well in running this local pub in such a hard economic climate. Well done to you all.

We've travelled from Manchester for a birthday, staying somewhere else and thought we'd venture out for tea.... we were not disappointed!
The smile as we walked in was homely but the food was next level.
Steak was cooked to perfection and the lamb shank FELL off the bone. Would highly recommended to any one wanting a traditional pub meal.
They were out of the sticky toffee pudding but the dark chocolate and honeycomb cheese cake certainly made up for it!
The girls were amazing and made sure we were very happy with everything!
Would be coming here again, if i could give more than 5 stars..... 1000/10

Booked a room here for 3 of us for 1 night as climbed old man of coniston and needed a sleep before going home.
Room done it's job, hot water, clean towels clean sheets. Perfect. But basic, good price.
We got there around 7pm. Had a lovely fat burger and chips 5*
Breakfast in the morning was banging. Compliments to the chef 👨🍳
Overall friendly staff and good food.

Came here for a few pints and food midweek of February. Good ale and nice food. We thought it was expensive, however I suppose local pubs pretty much in the middle of nowhere needs all the help it can. Proper local and definitely recommend 👌

We stopped here on the way home from a week in the lakes. The food and the service is the best we came across during our trip and we have visited a number of high rated review places in some of the highest tourist attractions around the lakes. I will 100% be visiting again when we are back up.

I had the pleasure of enjoying the Wednesday Pie and a Pint night and a Sunday roast. A lovely cosy village Pub, my Dog was welcome too. The Staff are friendly and helpful, I thoroughly enjoyed my visits.

Great place to stay. Staff were good meals were great. My wife just felt like a meal of vegetables that weren't in the menu. The chef gladly did them for her and my steak and kidney pie with Stilton was the best I have eaten.
The rooms were clean and comfortable but the shower and toilet were fine for an average size person but being 6'6" and 115kg I had difficulties with them. Being big can have it's problems.
Bobby Q provided great entertainment for the night as well. A wonderful time

Checked in, warm welcome. Had an excellent dinner. Great room, superb breakfast and brilliant walking area for dogs. Owner is very friendly and accomidating, Jess, staff member is an absolute credit to the pub.

I really enjoyed staying at The White Hart. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy, with its lovely old oak beams. The complimentary tray and complimentary toiletries were a welcomed touch. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The breakfast menu was generous with a number of options, including a choice of cereals, and the coffee was very good. There was plenty of parking at the back of the Inn.

Went for a meal with family during a weekend away. Our table was in a quieter back room which lacked a little ambience but it was early teatime. However, the food was absolutely delicious and I would dine there again. Staff were lovely.
