We had a WONDERFUL meal here the Saturday just gone. We phoned up 20 minutes before arriving (had been walking in the Lakes) and they accommodated us immediately. The service was particularly outstanding - friendly, quick, efficient. The food arrived promptly and was outstanding quality. Our dog was allowed in and we just really enjoyed the general vibe! Thank you to the team at The White Hart we will definitely be visiting again.

Enormous portion sizes, but we were quite chilly on a cold evening. Great meal deal on Wednesday evenings. Standard mrnu. Nothing to choose that was v healthy.

We had a lovely 3 night stay in room 5. The pub is cosy and feels like a true Lake District stop. The rooms are basic, with a shower or a bath, but clean, comfy and perfect for a few nights. Jess was super friendly every morning welcoming us with a hearty Cumbrian breakfast. The view from the breakfast room is beautiful overlooking fields and woods. The pub itself is worth stopping at for food too. Proper pub classics for a fair price. The stacker burger is huge! Loved sitting next to the log burner at night with a pint or two too. Would definitely stay again. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful stay.

A quintessential Olde English country pub set in the beautiful scenery of the Lake District with a large car park at the rear. Low door frames, paving slab floors, low beams adorned with horse brasses, creaky tables, nooks, and crannies populated with stuffed animals and birds. A warm friendly greeting from the barman a choice of where to sit and a welcome for our dog. The menu has plenty to tempt the hungry patron and dog as they had a mini menu for four-pawed visitors too! We had lite bites, 3 magnificent Cumberland sausages, mash, veg and onion gravy. A skillet with caramelised red onion chutney and baked goat's cheese and salad. A bowl of skinny fries topped off the order (which were hot, crispy, and perfectly salted). Delicious, everything was perfect. We WILL be back and highly recommend The White Heart.

We've just spent two nights at The White Hart and couldn't be happier. The place is a little bit dated and with the room we had the bathroom was separate and across the corridor, which was a little annoying and made for an interesting dash across in the morning. Also there is no lock on the bathroom door except with the key hah! A little latch lock would fix this.
But, with this being said the staff more than made up for the room! Jess and Ben, the kitchen staff and even the cleaners were lovely! Everyone went above and beyond, the pub is dog friendly and furry friends are shown much love when we visited.
We also have a 9 month old and the staff were very accommodating.. even when food was being launched across the room or baba was singing to anyone that would listen!
Absolutely would recommend to any family looking for a little get away in the lakes!

Absolutely delightful staff; Jess & Ben particularly so - they made our 2 night stay there so lovely! They were both so friendly & kind and went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Jess recommended a really nice walk for us to go on. Honestly couldn’t find a single fault. Breakfast was great. We also ate there for an evening meal & it was really nice. We stayed as a family of 4 with our dog (there are even dog treats on the menu!!). We will definitely be returning. Thanks so much! x

Absolutely lovely meal, food was delicious and friendly staff and cosy atmosphere, despite there being an issue with some obnoxious customers having too much to drink and determined to cause trouble. Staff were polite at all times and conducted themselves professionally.
