Service was not the best but, the staff were untrained so service will improve.
Not really impressed with the inefficient electric shower in the room.

Great food, a little overpriced, very little vegetarian choice. The bedrooms are clean and unique. Staff are very polite and friendly .

Wow I totally give the White Hart 5 stars. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the staff and shown to our table in the lounge.
I picked the 16oz gammon steak and Alison had the Cumberland sausage.
Both were presented beautifully and well portioned.
I was overwhelmed by the amount of food for the price and it's not like me to leave any.
If anyone is visiting the area this is a must place to go for a meal.
Everything was perfect.

The White Hart it’s a lovely Old Worldy pub with wooden beams authentic surroundings and brilliant staff running the place.
We have stayed here twice the first time we stayed in room three which was a very spacious couples room and this time we stayed in room five but found this room to be very small and claustrophobic and because it was located directly above the kitchen you could hear the loud radio and the business of the kitchen which would happen from morning to night..
My wife has an eating disorder and they were very accommodating although my wife ordered plain omelette with fries and we were charged £12.95 which was extremely expensive for what it was although the food was very nice.
Overall we have given this experience a 7 out of 10

Lovely pub with fantastic food. Helpful friendly staff, only lost a star as car park is not that big and we had to find somewhere else in the village to park.

This is one of those 'out of the way' places that I chanced upon when visiting the area. Although I recieved a warm welcome I have to say that the overall experience was largely disappointing mainly due to the sterile atmosphere that seemed to hang like a haze throughout the place.
Maybe I just visited on an unusually bad day so when next in the area I will pop in and try to prove myself wrong in my assessment.

Had my birthday here on Saturday 13th November, excellent service and food, even with the place being extremely busy.

Definitely worth a visit if you are staying or passing through the area.

Lovely location and a nice pub. Have to say some aspects look tired since change of ownership however I appreciate covid struck so closed businesses like this. That said carpets in accomodation could have been cleaned whilst closed to appear more inviting to guests. Upon arrival our toilet wouldnt flush, a staff member did come to speak to us after we reported it. We were told there was nothing that could be done perhaps an offer of a change of room would have been a good idea being that no other rooms appeared to be in use.
Food was amazing and we had to leave before breakfast so staff provided us with takeaway bacon sandwiches which were fresh and lovely. The lad and girl working in the bar were really friendly and helpful despite being busy.
Hope to come back and see some minor improvements to make this a 5 star review next time.

Visited the White Hart last week for evening dinner, after a lovely walk close by. The staff were very welcoming and pets were welcome. Very good menu and prompt service for both drinks and food. We chose the home made Steak & Guinness pie which was delicious. The meat was very tender with just the right amount of crust. Not a huge portion of vegetables but not a major issue. All in all we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and a lovely pub to unwind in. Hope to visit again soon, to enjoy this area if the Lake District.
