We stayed at the White Hart for 5 nights, my wife's mum is from the area so we where looking up ancestors etc.The White Hart team here are brilliant, friendly and go out of their way to help out. Room was cosy with a very comfy bed, the food is brilliant and they don't skimp on portions either from Breakfast to Dinner all home cooked and top notch. Great base to explore the Lakes and nicely away from the main touristy madness. We will be staying again the wife has declared.!

It was a bit noisy in the bar area when we arrived at 7.15pm, but calmed down when the loud group left. Food was fine. Seemed like they were a bit short staffed, but it had been a rather busy day apparently.

Only stayed one night but this is a lovely old Inn with lots of character. We booked a table for or evening meal had three courses and the food was excellent, as was the breakfast next morning. We would definitely stay again if we get chance and have already recommended it to our friends, thanks to all at the white Hart

Booked a table in the dog-friendly restaurant and ordered exclusively from the specials board. The grub was very very good and came in large portions so we went home happy. Very busy when we visited on Coronation weekend, but well worth visiting. I'd put this at the very upper end of food I've had in the area.

Great food with prompt friendly service. We ordered only from the specials board and all four meals were excellent and very decent sizes. You pay a little more than elsewhere, but worth every penny.

Been going to this pub for nigh on 55 years. Still kept its charm and it's country pub identity. Nice food, good beer. Haven't stayed overnight for 26 years so can't speak for the accommodation.

We had a WONDERFUL meal here the Saturday just gone. We phoned up 20 minutes before arriving (had been walking in the Lakes) and they accommodated us immediately. The service was particularly outstanding - friendly, quick, efficient. The food arrived promptly and was outstanding quality. Our dog was allowed in and we just really enjoyed the general vibe! Thank you to the team at The White Hart we will definitely be visiting again.

We enjoyed a one night stay ! Booked last minute just wish we could have stayed longer ! What a lovely place, excellent food , great atmosphere! Friendly attentive staff , highly recommend ( take no notice of the bad reviews! )
