Everyone knows that aerobic exercise is great for your physical and mental health and when you go running, don't just do it staring at a wall in a gym or in your back room.
Get out and breathe the fresh air. Inspire others with your running and why not time yourself? There is nothing like a little competition to get you moving.
The Barnstaple Park run happens every week at Rock Park. It's a 5km run - it's you against the clock. Runners stay on the tarmac paths for two and half laps around Rock Park on easy going flat ground.
Anyone can join in and it's suitable for all abilities and it's free!!
All you need to do is register online before the first time you run to get yourself a barcode and off you trot. The wonderful thing about a timed run is not only does it spur you on to run faster than last week, but if you're new to running or exercise, you can track your progress.
Why not give it a go? Take a friend and even see if you can top their time too.
