Easter is definitely upon us and if you need some inspiration of what to do locally or where you could enjoy family fun days out well look no further. Here is a great list of things to do, local to Barnstaple that offer fun for everyone and in many cases, some chocolate to keep you going!!

Easter Holidays. It’s come around quicker than ever this year and with Good Friday as the start of the holidays, you may be concerned about filling the next 2 weeks without breaking the bank.

Here are some ideas:

Get down to Portmore for group lessons for adults and kids or get your swing back with a basket of balls and 40 minutes at the driving range 01271 309297

Family attractions happening during these holidays include:

  • Easter chick hunt at Clovelly – get spotting those chicks hiding around the village and you can claim a special prize
  • Cadbury Easter egg trail at Arlington Court follow the clues and see where they take you. Fantastic scenery and choccy too 1st - 17th April
  • Easter bunny hunt at Castle Hill Gardens- In this popular event just follow eggciting cryptic clues around the garden and cash in for a Easter gift – Great for the whole family. This annual Easter Bunny Hunt on Monday 17th April. The fun starts at 11am, tickets: Adults £6.50, Child (5-15) £3.00, Family £15.50
  • Easter Family Fun at the Big Sheep. Tire yourself and the kids out this Easter with the South West’s biggest Easter egg hunt. 
  • Exmoor pony centre’s Easter open day – celebrate Easter with some beautiful ponies. Full on family fun on Sunday, 9th April - Activity Day - 11am - 3pm
    In addition to our usual activities we will have an Easter Quiz Trail which all the family can play. Answer all the questions and claim your chocolate reward.
  • Find the gold Lindt bunny at RHS Rosemoor. A stunning location perfect to relax in and let the children discover hidden choccy treasure
  • Barnstaple Rugby club are also hosting their annual Egg hunt. A Fun day including Refreshments, Face painting, Bouncy castle, Raffle, Stalls and a few surprises too

If you have had enough chocolate to last you to next Easter and your feeling a little bit of guilt why not work that off in time for summer. Try a new dance class like burlesque (its not rude!) or ballroom Project Dance Devon can sort you out. Give them a call on 01271 308107

Hold that boat!! The ferry service between Instow and Appledore re-starts on 1st April for the summer. Check out the sailing times and enjoy the adventure
