National Cupcake Week itself is designed to help promote the popularity of cupcakes in order to help bakery businesses boost their sales. They also encourage bakers to raise money for their partner charity Wellbeing of Women, through fundraising during the week, or donating a percentage of their sales to the charity.
Once the simple treat of choice for kids' birthdays, there are now hundred of recipes and variations - some brides have even had wedding cakes made from towers of cupcakes! But cupcakes are not just about recipes there is all the paraphernalia that goes with them; cupcake stands, tiered cupcake stands, cupcake wrappers, cupcake caddies and even electric cupcake makers.
That's not all! Once you've baked the cupcake you have to decorate it! With an ever expanding selection of cupcake decorations from dusting powders, edible glitter, flowers and coloured sugars - the selection goes on and on - so ... it's up to you how creative you want to be.
You can cook up all kinds of fun events to celebrate this tasty week!
