Ideas for Kids and Easter Holiday Break

The Easter holidays have started for some lucky children and they always present parents with a number of dilemmas..........how to manage time off work, how to keep the kids safe and perhaps most importantly, occupied, busy and out of trouble.

Some people are lucky to have grandparents and other relatives close by to take on some of the parental duties, others try to make use of sports camps and clubs to take up some of their time, or a group of parents pool their time off so each take a day off to oversee 4 other families kids, which can be a good idea as long as disputes are managed quickly!

If the weather is good its great to get the gang outside and away from TV screens and games consoles. Fresh air, sun shine and activity outside are free and if you can get on the beach with a kite, a bat and ball, frisbee or football you can have a couple of hours low cost fun especially if you take the drinks, sandwiches and cakes with you as well.

A new craze that appeals to youngsters and is much more trendy than walking or rambling is GeoCaching which is a high tech treasure hunt that uses GPS devices to find locations all over the world. Here in North Devon there are over 2000 caches to find with in a 40 mile radius of Barnstaple so take a look at www.geocaching.com and register for even more ideas of things to do this Easter holiday, right on your doorstep!
