Hinkley Point C Awareness and Opportunity Event

EDF Energy and its partner investors are close to starting the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC) which is a proposed 3.2 GW nuclear power plant with two EPR reactors (each of 1.6GW). It would produce enough electricity to power over five million homes and will require a £18 Billion investment in its 10 year construction.

As part of its procurement strategy for Hinkley Point C, EDF Energy has partnered with the Somerset Chamber of Commerce to manage the Hinkley C Supply Chain Team which is delivering a supply chain solution for EDF Energy and its contractors by engaging with Somerset and South West businesses that want to become part of the supply chain.

The project will require the following capabilities:

Manufacturing – Steel Fabrication, Machine shop, Precision components, Non Destructive Testing, Electrical components and contracts, Control and Instrumentation – all require supply and install

Construction – Civil works, building trades, material and component supplies, construction services (fuel, plant, waste management),

Services – Professional and technical, hard and soft services, transport, training, catering

Real engagement with significant contract value is already happening. In the last few years over 200 businesses in the South west have been awarded over £100 million of contracts and a further 35 business in 6 supplier groups are preferred bidders for £250 million of contract value over the construction period.

This free event is for businesses in Devon and is for limited numbers. To find out how you can access opportunities from this project we invite you to join the Hinkley Supply Chain team and the Devon Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday 23rd February at The Portmore Golf Park, Landkey Road, Barnstaple, Devon, EX32 9LB.
