Chance to say ‘I do’

to The Jubilee Inn

Lovers of The Jubilee Inn near South Molton can now book their receptions at the country inn famous for its fine dining and receive a complete wedding package.

Claire Sellar-Elliott, co-owner of the country inn at West Anstey along with Executive Chef Sam Salway, said: “We’ve just launched the wedding aspect of the business this year. We work with London-based and well-known and respected wedding co-ordinator, Siobhan Craven-Robins and offer the full planning of the event, whatever the couple’s budget. Whether it is for the smaller, more intimate ceremony and wedding breakfast, or a grander, unique, marquee event, we have both local and international expertise at our fingertips to make the bride and groom’s day that extra special.

“We’re also able to take bookings for people who would like to renew vows or celebrate a special wedding anniversary with their children, grandchildren, friends and extended family.

“Here we have a stunning countryside location and can make your day bespoke to you with fine dining for any celebratory event. The choice depends on you and we will endeavour to exceed your expectations from start to finish.”

The Jubilee Inn was taken on by Claire and her family in 2012. After spending three years closed, they fully refurbished and re-launched the business in 2015 with Sam’s help, and now after extensive renovations the couple are rejuvenating its fortunes.

Claire says: “We offer luxury accommodation for those wishing to escape the stresses and strains of everyday urban life and to unwind in a truly idyllic, country location with stunning scenery all year round. A wonderful backdrop for any wedding photographs.”

The Jubilee Inn is in the heart of deepest Devon, not far from the official ‘Gateway to Exmoor’– the bustling and picturesque market town of South Molton.

Once a holiday destination for the legendary film star Terry Thomas, whose family lived here in the 1960s and 70s, The Jubilee Inn, which was built in 1936, has recently undergone a complete renovation and extension to create a comfortable boutique-style country house hotel.

She said: “We’ve created a successful restaurant and boutique hotel with an excellent reputation for ambience, customer service and fabulous food, serving seasonal dishes with ingredients sourced from nearby. We also have six beautiful and individual hotel rooms that are all luxurious and inviting. We wanted to create a real home from home atmosphere, with all the little extra luxuries!”

All the bedrooms are ‘uniquely different’. They have en suite bathrooms with showers and beds with Vi-Spring mattresses and crisp linens.

Claire added: “We provide our guests with luxurious accommodation, fabulous fine dining in our restaurant or classic comfort food in our bar. All our dishes are cooked to perfection, feature local and regional seasonal produce and are accompanied by fine wines and ales.”
