1st October 2013

Working with Devon County Council, the consortium is collaborating to bring a range of accessible arts opportunities to local people.

Daisi is working with Barnstaple Town Council and other local cultural organisations to deliver a programme of creative workshops and events taking place from October 2013 – March 2014.

‘We want to work with local arts and cultural providers in the town, and build on Barnstaple’s own art scene’ said Rae Hoole from the Daisi team.  From our discussions so far there is interest in environmental arts, heritage, creative writing, performance and visual arts.  We will try to respond to all these in our choice of artists and the creative experiences that we set up together’

’We hope to work with a wide variety of local people’ said Daisi’s project manager Ruth Cohen.  ‘And we are particularly interested in working with people who do not often get involved in the arts.  There’s a first time for everything!’

On Thursday 3rd October 5.00pm – 6.30pm there is an open meeting at St Anne’s Art and Community Centre, Paternoster Row in the centre of Barnstaple (EX31 1BH) for anyone interested in getting involved or to find out more about this project
