Northern Devon Hallshare Forum, supported by NDVS, North Devon Council and Devon Communities together, are encouraging Village Halls to take part in an event month (April ’15) that celebrate Village Halls in the Community.    Come and be part of it

What goes on in your Village Hall?     They create an environment for our community of all ages and abilities to regularly engage in events, indoor sport, theatre, learning activities, community care, and fun  - it is the hub of your village.      Popular activities include crafts, fitness, toddler groups and pre-schools, badminton, WI, , lunch clubs, youth clubs, shortmat bowls, theatre, learning, community care, music, weddings, parties, cinema, arts, Cubs & Scouts, Brownies & Guides.  Which do you do?

Poor public transport in some areas can make it difficult for people to access events and activities outside their parish or in local towns, but active village halls provide this on the doorstep, so village halls are a focus of community activity which greatly enhance the overall fabric and improve the conditions of community life.     Your Hall plays a pivitol role in your community.

Come on and get involved    Northern Devon Hallshare Forum are encouraging all of our Village Halls to take this opportunity to celebrate, and open their doors to the community for a one-off event in April (date of your choice), to showcase all the different things that your hall has to offer.    So why not offer a cream team, or a coffee morning and invite along some of your local crafters, sports or interest groups, to showcase what they do.   You can use the opportunity to drum up new members, and really show the locals what they may not know is happening on their doorstep.

There will be a programme of local advertising and Posters are available that you can use to advertise your own event locally.   The more village halls that get involved, the more we can show just how important our Village Halls and community centres are in our rural communities, and you also get the opportunity to show off, raise more bookings and maybe attract some new volunteers too.

To get involved with an event of your own, or for more information, please contact asap
