The purpose of National School Meals Week (NSMW), which is run by the Local Authority Caterers Association (LACA) is to promote awareness of healthy eating in Britain's Primary and Secondary schools, and everyone is encouraged to get involved! This year National School Meals Week will run from 3-7 November 2014.
Egg-cellent!!!! Sorry, couldn't resist! Running from 6-12 October 2014 and organised in association with British Lion Eggs, the week aims to show parents and children that eggs are great for any meal, since they are high in nutrition for youngsters and value for money, too.
National Cupcake Week is brought to the public by British Baker, the only industry title to cover the entire baking industry, including craft, ingredients, equipment, food-to-go, snacks, coffee shops, as well as plant bakery and supermarkets.
Picnics bring to mind romantic, basket-filled-with-treats lunch for two by a stream or a lunch in a park hastily packed to get the children out for a couple of hours, but picnics can be just as fun inside! With our ever unpredictable weather, indoor or outdoor picnics are the order of the day, this week.
