People throughout the country will be gathering up their picnic accessories and finding any excuse to have a picnic in the great outdoors to celebrate National Picnic Week.

Why not try one of the many recipes available in recipe books and online just for picnicking?  Go for a potato salad, beetroot salad or a less traditional selection of food.   Take along a selection of freshly pressed juices and a group of friends and you have the perfect ingredients for a summer picnic.

The week aims to promote the great outdoors and the classic picnic so long as the weather allows it!  There are a number of ideal picnic spots dotted up and down the country, search the web for any of your local ones.

An ideal 'family time' scenario as well.  Children love picnics, whether they be outdoors or in a 'den' made from cushions and sheets in the front room!

National Picnic Week was founded 10 years ago and has grown steadily over that time and become a mainstay in the media calendar.  Radio, television and broadcasters are all keen to participate.  The week will provide suggestions and inspiration for interesting picnic food and drinks and encourage people to get outdoors and discover the picnic sites available in their local area.

The National Picnic Week website at: http://www.nationalpicnicweek.co.uk/  provides a wealth of information for this pastime including recipes, advice and generic tips on the perfect picnic!

Happy Picnicking!!!!
