A Shrewsbury art gallery has raced ahead with its communications after a Shropshire business installed a broadband line and then offered its ongoing sponsorship. The relationship is a great example of business and the arts working together locally.
A woman from Shropshire is spending 12 hours on a cross trainer to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society. Jo Cunningham will attempt the fitness feat for the charity which is close to her heart after her dad was diagnosed with dementia.

Shrewsbury based caravan dealership Salop Leisure has spent the past year raising funds towards the restoration of a unique church tower in the town. The £1,000 has been raised through a variety of shows and events.

A Shrewsbury woman, who spent last summer working with elephants and other wildlife rescued from exploitation in the Thai tourist trade, is calling for help after the centre was wrongly raided and the animals taken away again.
A charity worker from Shrewsbury, who runs an education centre in Africa for young people who would otherwise have no access to learning, is appealing for item donations. Caroline Goody is in town to collect donations which could make a real difference.

People in Shropshire who want to try a bit of adventure while raising money for a charity - should check out Roadrunner Rallies. The new website has been set up by a Shrewsbury businessman to encourage people to travel 1,500 miles in five days.
Community leaders in Shropshire are being encouraged to organise events and activities in their local area in support of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. If you have the desire but aren't sure how to go about it then help is at hand from the council.

Young professionals in Shropshire have raised £800 for the Severn Hospice and the Midlands Air Ambulance through a charity quiz night. Chairperson Nicola Pearce of Shrewsbury solicitors Wace Morgan said the evening was a great success.
