After 42 years of working as a veterinary nurse, Lesley Holt of Kydd and Kydd Vets says goodbye to live an exciting travelling retirement.

Raring to go with a passion for animals, Lesley went straight into veterinary nursing in a small animal practice in Teddington when she left school in 1974.

Qualifying in 1977, Lesley worked until her first child was born, and subsequently, after her second child was born she decided to return to veterinary nursing.

Lesley joined Kydd and Kydd Vets in 1988 and worked part time alongside David Kydd and his father Meldrum Kydd. Apart from a year off to have her third child, Lesley has worked at Kydd and Kydd Vets ever since - that's around 28 years of service, not that we're counting!

The time has come for Lesley to move on and by gosh, does she have grand plans! Lesley's family live around the world - two daughters in Australia and one in Hong Kong - so she'll be spending a lot of time on the other side of the world where, hopefully, she'll come across some weird and wonderful animals!

Over the years Lesley has created a number of close relationships with the Wimbledon community and their beloved pets. Lesley says:

"Many thanks to Susan and David who have provided me with a caring, interesting and stimulating work environment, to all my friends and colleagues who have come and gone through the practice over the last 28 years, and to all the cats, dogs, bunnies and other wonderful pets who have made it all worthwhile."

We wish Lesley all the best and would like to thank her for looking after Wimbledon's beloved pets - big and small!
