As a Food Hygiene Expert, I was invited to speak on BBC Radio London at 6.18pm with presenter Jim Davis on Thursday 27th June (1hr and 18 minutes into the show which you can listen to here) and with BBC Radio 5 Live with presenter Stephen Nolan on Saturday 29 June at 10.30pm, (listen here) in regards to:

  • Shocking fake takeaway sold on Uber Eats.
  • Deliveroo and Just Eat found to be selling takeaways from 400 restaurants with one star hygiene ratings.

You can listen to both interesting broadcasts in the above links. In the press recently the BBC successfully set up a fake Uber Eats takeaway restaurant and started selling burgers without passing any food standards hygiene checks. This shows how easy it is for unregulated restaurants to pass under the radar.

Another story in the news was that BBC's research team found more than 400 outlets with a FSA rating of 1/5 - meaning they were in need of major improvement. These outlets can be found on Deliveroo and Just Eat which is shocking and unacceptable. The delivery companies say they are committed to improving standards.
