Take me back to Waverley
Godalming is a historic market town in the borough of Waverley. One of Surrey’s prettiest towns, it offers everything from riverside strolls to a host of great independent shops and a strong community spirit.

Some of its favourite features include:
The world-famous Grade II listed Charterhouse School, which has seen many celebrated names pass through its doors.
The Pepperpot, a landmark difficult to miss at the end of the High Street, originally used for borough council meetings.
Winkworth Arboretum, a National Trust area of woodland and rare shrubs a few miles south of the town.

Did you know? In 1881, Godalming became the first place in the world to have a public electricity supply and electric street lighting, powered by a huge waterwheel at Westbrook Mill!
