We're in Wiveliscombe on the edge of Exmoor. Wivey has a vibrant & thriving working community are we are proud of the fact that a large number of residence call this their local. We're also surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Quantocks.
At The Bear, we serve honest home cooking - we make the kind of food we want to eat.
Our menu reflects what what our pub is about. We serve up generous portions of fresh, tranditional dishes served in surroundings only real can offer.
We use as many local suppliers as possible showing off the best of Somerset's produce. Such as: Tim Potters butchers, Wellington, The Larder, Wiveliscombe, Thornes Butchers, Wiveliscombe, Heal Farm Meats, South Molton, Gundenham Diary, Wellington, Tracebridge, Fermenteria, Frank's Fish, and Ray's Veg.
Food Served Seven Days a Week
Monday through Friday 12pm-3pm and 5pm-9.15pm
Sundays 9am-9.15pm (Breakfast until 11.30am)

We recently redecorated the Bear Inn Skittle Alley,which is heated and ready for hire.To add character the old wooden floors,has been refurbished which means by day it is flooded with natural light.We do not make any charge to hire this facility & can help arrange the interior to enhance any event.
The local Community find it the perfect venue for any event, as it can be arranged for any occasion. We cater for clubs, parties, wine and gin tasting, exhibitions, private dining and tasting events, coffee mornings, fund raisers etc.
