The museum is brilliant
My only criticism is that all of the lighting in the displays is failing so the text for all of the items is virtually unreadable. It's a shame because there is so much to see. A simple LED upgrade in all the display cases would make this a spectacular museum and an absolute must see while in Tsunton

This was a surprise stop on a simple Saturday free time. The outside lures you in, a castle but a humble, clean, inviting one. The courtyard was charming and the gift shop was nice. It was fascinating to learn the history of the area I had explored for a while now. The staff were prideful and enthusiastic, helpful, and there was way more to see than expected - the history was rich, rebellious, tragic, charming. I do hope to return during special events and seasons.

What a great museum! It's modern and very professional. It shows the history of Somerset through the ages, with a series of artefacts - some very significant and beautiful.

It doesn't get side-tracked or try to shoe-horn irrelevant stories into the narrative for contemporary reasons. It's so refreshing to see. The exhibits are relevant to anyone who wants to know about the history of the county, and should suit a very wide range of ages.

It's a bonus that's it's free! Do make a donation. The café is great too, and the staff were really good. One suggestion: the shop is great, but could carry more Somerset items - even just flags, bumper stickers and t-shirts would be excellent.

Visiting The Museum on Somerset was nothing short of magical. From the moment I stepped through its doors, I was transported into a world where history whispered through every exhibit, artifact, and carefully curated display. It’s more than just a museum—it’s an experience that awakens curiosity and deepens appreciation for the past.

The beauty of this place isn’t just in the breathtaking exhibits but in the way it tells a story. Each room is a gateway to another time, filled with echoes of lives lived, struggles endured, and triumphs celebrated. The intricate details, the way light falls on ancient relics, and the hushed awe of fellow visitors made it feel almost sacred.

I left The Museum on Somerset with my heart full and my mind brimming with newfound wonder. It has ignited in me a passion for history I never knew I had. There’s something truly special about a place that can make the past feel alive and deeply personal. If you ever have the chance to visit, do so with open eyes and an open heart—you may just walk away changed.

In the cafe, HOMEMADE Lemon Meringue Rocky Road, who knew this even existed?
Never heard of this variant of a rocky road, but, it was absolutely fantastic.
Not too sweet either, and a very reasonable price.
If you've never tried LMRR, it's a must try.
